Hairdresser tips?

How much do you tip your hairdresser? I'm going to have my hair cut tomorrow and i never know how much to tip. It's going to cost £19.50. Do you tip a percentage or just a couple of pounds no matter what or £5?
Thanks

Tips should be in pound coins, never percentages, unless perhaps you got a £100+ job. I give £2.

I go on how much it's costing me and weather i'm really satisfied with what's been done. Usually give £2 as well. Only give a fiver if I have colour and cut and it turns out extra super lol.
  • a fiver???

I am feeling bad now I only tip £1 usually or sometimes £2 if I had a colour and cut and I am very pleased.

    Am I being awful??

by the way I pay about £30 for a cut/blowdry and over £70 for colour/cut/blowdry.

  • I tip £1 (on £30 cut & blow dry). Don't want to, but don't want her to do a bad job next time :o

I never tip either. That is not to say I don't appreciate a good job - I always tell someone if they have done a good job.
Just I can barely afford the haircut never mind a tip.

I always tip - between £2 and £5 depending on what I get done. Bizarre actually, as I won't tip in restaurants, except our local!
