well, I am into the final furlong...this time next week i will be able to breathe again and not spend my entire time worrying about the state of my bank balance...
i have rejigged my budget which runs to the end of the financial year and have decided that when i get to april 09, i will have paid off my two smallest non-interest charging debts, got my emergency fund back to 1k and paid off the two interest charging debts that i have....in total that is around 3.5k and i have six months in which to acheive it!!!
admittedly, i was hoping to have this all done by christmas....however, one thing i have definatley learned over the past ten months is that the dfw journey is never simple....life has a habit of hurling things at you when you least expect it!!:D
so, only a week to go before my next real push towards clearing my debts begins...hopefully the next twelve months will take me closer to my ultimate goal....i have no more excuses to make...whatever happens will be down to me....Yak...not sure i like the idea of the responsibility...(think thats why I'm in this position now though!!!:rotfl: )0 -
Good luck, keep the positive thinking going.

managed to get through dd birthday celebrations without too much stress...mind you, went to the pub at lunchtime with dh, ds, dd & boyfriend plus one of my ex-foster babies and one round cost £17..
took the puppies to the vet yesterday for their boosters and worming....that managed to cost me £68....good job they are amazingly gorgeous otherwise i would have to ebay them!!
dh & dd away for the weekend and ds on training today so having a really peaceful 'me' day....really should do this more often, it is so nice:D
i am really looking forward to next week...i have hated being so stressed about cash this past month...i never have any money anyway, but being this skint hasn't happened since my lbm....i guess that in one way this has woken me up to how precarious my financial situation is  ....it has certainly made me rejig my budget so that i have more put away for the MOT's next year!!!
anyway, i am counting down the minutes until i once again have cash....only five days to go!!:j0 -
also forgot to say that ds has just 'come out of retirement' (he's only 20!!)and got a new job...starts tomorrow, so in a couple of weeks time he will start contributing again!!:j
i am starting to feel much better now....only a few days to go, budget sorted for the next couple of months and now additional funds coming in from ds...wierd how things work out....:rolleyes:0 -
well, another day down...another day closer to pay day!!
got a letter from another dca yesterday asking for an increase in instalments...certainly not in a position to do so, but may well cca them as have heard that they frequently don't have the right paperwork....the more i learn about this sort of thing the more annoyed i get....don't get me wrong, i genuinely want to pay back every penny that i owe, but the fact that these people have absolutely no regard for the law as it applies to them but are quite happy to utilise it when they are dragging you through the courts, harrass you constantly even when they have no legal right to actually be collecting the money is really starting to p**s me off.....not to mention the fact that the oc is happy to let them do it.....if it was the oc i was dealing with it wouldn't bother me at all, but i am not going to be hassled by someone who hasn't got any more right to ask me for money than a random person on the street...
i honestly feel that it is tantamount to your average street robbery..demanding money with menaces....it really should be a criminal offence to do this...after all what they are really doing is saying either give us your money or we'll send the boys round....you wouldn't get away with it as an individual, so why are organisations allowed too?
anyway, rant over....i feel much better now!!
Have a great rest of weekend...more tomorrow...0 -
payday tomorrow:j ....this is my last post in this thread as i now have to put all my plans in action and start again properly on my df journey....
as i have said often...life frequently throws the unexpected at you and after paying out so much on my car, sunday night i got rear-ended and my car is looking like it may have to be written off...... not to mention the extreme amount of pain i am in from the whiplash....never rains but it pours!!
i would just like to thank everyone who has followed this thread over the past couple of weeks....it's so good to have the support and encouragement from you all and i promise that i will try really hard to make sure that i keep the faith and get to my dfd as soon as humanly possible!!!0 -
okay...i lied...that wasn't my last post after all!!:D
a lot has happened since my last post, so i thought i would update....
my car was considered uneconomical to repair, so the other persons insurance has come up with a settlement and i get to keep the car, plus i have received a compensation cheque for the injuries i sustained. :j
so...i am paying off my debts which still charge interest with that money, i have cleared three of my smallest debts from this months payday :T and i have cca'd four of my other creditors all of whom have not managed to find a cca to date....
as the rest of my debts do not charge interest, my new challenge is to use all my spare cash to pay off as much as possible in overpayments to my mortgage and drastically reduce the amount of interest i pay...when i have completed that i will sling all of the cash at my debts...i am really going to try to be entirely debt free within ten years....its a long road ahead but i am determined to make it:D thanks to everyone here, i am sure i can do this!!0 -

Hi money_back...
dlc sent me statement of account (actual statements!!) but haven't managed to produce anything else so far....they claimed they were acting as agents for egg so no notice of assignment available but i am not thoroughly convinced....it is now 30 days since i sent the original cca request so i will wait and see what happens...they did state that they would contact me in 21 days if there were no developments beforehand so i am expecting some sort of contact this week....i must be honest and say that i am doing this more as a protest at their attitude and harrassment rather than any other reason...i would happily pay the oc..i spent the money...i am just not prepared to be bullied by a bunch of muppets who have no legal right to collect the money anyway!
good luck with your quest....hope you have success....and just to let you know that i also sent the don't contact me by telephone letter with the cca request...that way they couldn't say they didn't receive it...i have had no phone calls since!0
