Well the 3rd business day within which they promised delivery has come and gone and they do not reply emails sent directly to the customer support person who is supposedly supporting me. I put traces on my emails and he deleted the last one without reading it! I also sent 2 emails over the last few days via their website and they haven't contacted me about those either!

The reason why they are deleting your messages because you need to put your order number in the subject; example:

Subject: RE: Order Number xxxxxxxxxxx

Try that!. How do you know they not reading them what type of program are you using?. :rudolf:

Messages that are marked 'Deleted without being read' are not necessarily so.

Using Outlook on Exchange for example allows you to view the message in the preview window without marking the email as being read.

Still i'd have expected a followup response before the item was deleted. Perhaps they are being forwarded to the relevant help desk (in some co-ordinated way, lol)

The Dell support engineer emailed me with a message entitled Missing Monitor.
All I have done is reply to his message - there were no instructions about changing the title of the message. The order number is clearly in the email trail anyway.

I am using outlook and switch on read receipts for messages. This shows me when the email is read and if it was deleted without being read. I do understand that delete without being read can be fooled as it does not take into account mail preview, but in this case as I have had no reply, I would have to deduce that either a) he deleted it without reading it, or b) that he read it and then ignored it.

I'm not quite sure which is worse !

When I switched on my mobile yesterday there was a message from somebody (whose name I couldn't make out) from Dell Customer Services asking if I had received my monitor ! He said that he would call back on Tuesday. He didn't and suffice to say the monitor didn't arrive yesterday either !

Having never received the monitor on Monday, and having not heard back from the chap that left the message on my phone on Monday night asking if I had received the monitor, and having had no replies to the emails sent directly to the support chap and via the dell website I decided to call again.

They are now telling me that my order was accidentally cancelled but the person dealing with me was not at work yesterday and will call me today.

I wonder if he will?

Their inability to deliver a monitor, or to even look after the poor sod that bought it astonishes me.

I will never use Dell again - I used to recommend them to my customers and relatives - but not any more.
