When the Star (I think it was them) ran the same promotion, the value of the goods declared on the customs docket was the amount paid.... Thus.... Assuming the same applies, the voucher will be handy for anyone considering ordering single items in excess of £18 (the theoretical customs limit)... and below £25, for the voucher will bring the declared value below £18.
That's a few "ifs" I know, but it is what I'll be using mine for.
I was under the impression that play now paid VAT and included it in the price?
Is this not right? I ordered something a few months back and it was about £50. I was not charged and the customs declaration said something like "Duty paid at source".0 -

Clean my car window those who didn't get it and I'll give you £6 cash0 -

I applied for my one at 8am so fingers crossed. I was going to place an order for the new Davina DVD anyway so this would help!0

p.s. play put the cookies in place to prevent abuse of the service. They can check your IP's anyhow and check how many people made multiple orders. Very easy for them to do.0

They didnt do it last time. As everybody in my office ordered a voucher. (All the same IP address) And we all got them.
And we have done the same again

But play.com pay the customs charges for you! Although it doesn't say clearly on the website, for orders over £18 they have already prepayed the customs amount to HM...0 -

What about if you're at an internet cafe or - as Andyblizz said - at work? Don't think they'll bother checking all of the IP addresses, would be most unfair for those who use shared resources.0 -

They will log the IP but I doubt they would bother to check - other than an automated script looking for very heavy numbers like 50 or so from the same IP within 10 minutes.
See they will have to pay someone to check out 75k of applications and they already got their money's worth from the week of tabloid adverts.
Also if people order DVDs and the like the profit margin on these items is usually over £5 anyway - works out for everyone from their point of view.0
