Hi Chev ...so glad you are settling in over there and that you are managing to budget.Do you have the credit crunch there?..so glad that it is all working out.
There won't be much in the offset come end of Jan as will need it to pay the tax bill...the holiday we just need a bit of spending money for as it's AI so that will come from the emergency fund.
I don't think I've a lot of drive though..it was just that a couple of years ago I could see what was coming with the credit crunch so thought I'd better get on and start clearing the debts ..haven't done as much as I should've though due to the hysterectomy and then the car crash ...but these things happen.
I can't sleep that's why I'm up at this time..x0 -
Yes there is a credit crunch over here, but it is like it was in the 90's or something. Fiscal governance over here is out of the ark it really is. So all those sharp practices that we saw once in UK are still happening here, and those are the firms that have gone bust. Eg where company a is owned by company b who has shares in company c d and e, and when company a goes bust, suddenly c d and e have a problem aswell even though they weren't obviously associated. Alot of people have lost a lot of money and there doesn't seem to be much protection for them.
What is even more worrying is that they don't have deposit protection here (ie the 34k is protected per institution in the UK). So if a bank goes bust over here, then tough you lose your money, which is quite scary....
Hope you have now gone to bed and how is the no smoking going?
