Hello Taxi. What a worry about your son, I hope the place where they're holding him is comfortable at least.
Glad to hear you had your hair done - always good for morale. Your sig is looking fantastic! Nearly 25k paid off since Christmas and all those savings - despite all the hassles you've had with the accident.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
I can understand why you had the ciggy Taxi - what a horrible shock for you (and Mr Taxi), hopefully you will have some good news soon and well done on getting some more cash into the offset account! (is this actually off the mortgage or is it in a savings account that you could raid if needed?)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

That is a heck of a shock Taxi..I hope it gets resolved soon. My SIL as you know is in the navy and my friends son..i do know that they sometimes do things out of bravado and whatnot.the things my sil has done at times makes me mad, but mostly on my daughters behalf..anyway hugs to you hun and please let us know as soon as you do.
Great on the cheap hairdo as well as the offset.xxBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Thanks everyone..he says it's pretty good in the place he's in now but he was sure that he'd get 6 months as that's what the solicitor has said he should expect. At least the Navy have got him a solicitor!!!!..will have to see what happens but theres nothing at all I can do for him unfortunately.
The offset works by putting money into the savings bit of the mortgage which then means the savings save interest on the mortgage as if they have been paid off the mortgage in effect. The great bit is that you can withdraw any of it at anytime so it acts like a emergency fund..you have a choice to if you want to pay it all off when the mortgage and savings are equal amounts.
For instance if you had a £100000 mortgage and £20000 in the offset you'd pay interest on only £80000.I like the thing they have that shows you how much interest you've saved and how many months your mortgage would take to finish. It's quite good.
Today I've not done much but at least haven't had a ciggy.Hope you've all had a good day.0 -
