Branch or phone applications only. I'd recommend branch, so you can double check you get the right card!

Has this card been reinstated? Martin was just recommending it on GMTV this morning

Reports suggest that Abbey Zero is still available for applications made in branch or even over the telephone.
  • I was accepted over the phone on Dec 8 for the card, but I didn't get the contract until today (we asked the Post Office to hold mail while we were away over Christmas). While it doesn't say specifically it's a Zero card, the T&Cs match - 0% overseas loading, 0% BT.

One thing you could clarify for me: is it a Mastercard? I know it always had been one, but the letter I received in response to my e-mail that I still hadn't seen the contract by the 20th (allegedly sent out on the 9th) has "Visa Card Centre, Milton Keynes" as the address. However, as far as I can see the T&Cs make no reference to Visa or M/C.

Another question: can BTs be done to bank accounts, as well as other cards?

    Abbey Zero is a Mastercard.

Unfortunately they do NOT allow Super Balance Transfer (SBT) to a Bank Account.

    Good Luck.

Does anyone know when the 6 months 0% expire ?

Is it 6 months to the day of opening the account,
6 months to the day of doing the balanace transfer, or
the billing date after the 6/7 months ??

I am being given different information from them.

    Thanks

My T&C's, as amended by a notice of variation received in October 2008, say...

"the statement date following the date which is 6 months after account opening".
