You have 0% purchases for six months on the Zero too. No fee for withdrawing cash (but you get interest), no fee for using abroad (forex). BT is probably your main offer target I guess but there are other benefits.
- but yes, I'd seen the foreign transaction bit so will probably keep it for that. I never take cash out on a credit card (except maybe abroad) so that's not for me either.
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0 -
ahhhh well, it was too good to be true.
well what a farce this turned out to be. Abbey obviously noted their mistake and reversed the BT's all without informing me what-so-eve. One of the cards was egg money, so no real loss, the other was virgin (£3K).
in fact the first i heard of this was this week when my virgin statement came, where i saw the reversal and the fact that the reversal acts as a purchase and is now attracting full interest.
Abbey still have not contacted me in any way.
now i will have to spend god knows how much time pestering both virgin and abbey to communicate with each other no doubt.... much fun!!0 -

Ah Bad Luck.
To be honest I received the revised Terms and Conditions yesterday and I thought you may run into problems when I saw they had specifically added a clause prohibiting 2 card to be held at the same time.
Good Luck with getting the mess sorted that (sh)Abbey have left your accounts in.0 -

Also £10 dormancy fee if you don't use the card for 6 months.
Looks like (sh)Abbey are looking to recoup some the funds that we have all made from them through the 0% promotion.0 -

Unfortunately I did say last Saturday it would be picked up, though I'm surprised they've already reversed the BT without warning. That's uncommon.
The fact it's gone through as a purchase lies at Virgin's door. It shouldn't be a problem sorting that with them, though at the most extreme you may have to provide Virgin with a copy of your Abbey statements, which could be some weeks away (not able to pre-order them unfortunately).0 -
Can't find the link that lets me do a new post on Abbey credit card.
I requested the zero card and applied for it online and have just discovered I've signed for another card by mistake. A 9 month one that's charging me 3% for the balance transfer!
How I am I going to get out of that, they've already paid the money into my other card, but then I got a letter today saying I hadn't sent back my signed application/acceptance form!!
has this happened to anyone else?0 -
I don't think the Abbey Zero card is still being offered so you must have applied for the standard Abbey card.
I don't think there's anything you can do now the BT has been done and the card is up and running, other than pay it off and request they close the account, but wouldn't that be a wasted opportunity?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
yeah was looking for it and it isn't on the website anymore :S0

Hi all,
just got my Abbey Zero credit card in the post today; they've give me a very measly £2.4k limit. Grr. I seem to remember reading that other stoozers have managed to wangle an increase when making the activation call; any tips on how to go about doing this? Limit is only 3% of my annual income - can I use this as a valid argument for increasing? I do have a large number of other cards with higher limits, some of which are maxed out for stoozing which I suppose they do take into account. I only got the card after appealing a rejection so I've obviously dented my creditworthiness a bit.
Anyway I suppose it's free money, although I've figured that with six months free interest @ 5% on £2.4k, after tax, I'll get about £30. Not sure it was really worth the effort.
Cheers
