If you are looking to stock up on booze for Christmas, Calais is still worth a look. I have travelled there for a few years now, and there are some great bargains.
Take a look at booze-cruise.net . Their site covers all the main outlets, with a load of tips and guidance as well.
There are lots of cheap day trip fares on offer as we approach Christmas, so there is a great deal to be saved.0 -
Somerfield have an offer of 3 bottles for £25 which includes smirnoff, gordons, baileys & a couple of others - works out very cheap indeed!0

Cashed in £12.50 worth of Tesco clubcard points on a 'Deal' for a day trip on Eurotunnel (real cost £45) in early December. Will stock up with wine beer and champers at bargain prices at Odbins, Tesco, Majestic and Carrefour in Calais, all Gordon Brown free.
Vive les Clubcard Deals et le Tesco Visa card!Survivor of debt, redundancy, endowment scams, share crashes, sky-high inflation, lousy financial advice, and multiple house price booms. Comfortably retired after learning to back my own judgement.
This is not advice - hopefully it's common sense..0 -
I second that, at least 50% off, see for yourself

Carrefour is also great value, see whats good http://www.day-tripper.net
Even though this pays for the crossing you can even do one better and cash in your tesco vouchers for 4times the value - thats a eurotunnel crossing worth £40 for £10 !!0 -

Err... Thats just what I said I did, except that it was £45 to travel at reasonable times!
Just a thought why not have a look at your local microbrewery - heres a selection of ours, http://www.rebellionbeer.co.uk http://www.loddonbrewery.com/, http://www.butlersbrewery.co.uk great real ale at around £1.33 a pint, and, its all the year round!
Apparently small breweries pay less duty than the 'chemical plant' giants and according to someone in the know this is leading to an explosion in mail order.Survivor of debt, redundancy, endowment scams, share crashes, sky-high inflation, lousy financial advice, and multiple house price booms.
