Mine wasn't from Dell either (Club 24 Honours, Leeds. sounds interesting, wish I knew what it was!) - I'm sure its nothing - but hacking into Dell's site and putting down a few prices would harvest quite a lot of CC card details?
  • I find this concerning - all the more important that order cancellation emails are sent out pronto

How many of us could have been sucked into this? ???

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
The site that took the order was definately Dell's, as it knew from my email address that I had a ordered before

Off topic a bit, but Club 24 Honours is the company a lot of student loans have been sold to, stupid name if you ask me.
  • Strange, why isn't Dell sending us cancellation e-mails? are they just gonna ignore all the orders we placed? :o

it ain't so hard to cancel our orders, is it?

why are they not doing so? ???

its even more troublesome to lie to us "sry, we can't find your order" etc, that's just a waste of time.

    ::)

But why not let people know that they're not gonna honour the order?? Sh!tty customer relations or what! And did your account manager say anything about the printers?
No reliance should be placed on the above.

I just had 2 email from Dell Customer Support.
( i used the online complaint box thingy yesterday to ask where my pdf receipt was)
    their response....

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Dell Online Customer Care.

As per our records you will be receiving the invoice copy within
7-10 business days from the date of delivery of the order.

    Thanks
    Naveen

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Dell Online Customer Care.

Your order request has been received. However, at this time,
it has not been assigned a Dell order number. I apologize for
any delay or inconvenience this has caused. Please respond to
this mail if you do not receive any further communication or
Order Confirmation from our Internet Order team within next 2
    - 3 business days.

    Thanks
    Naveen

I didn't manage to order one fo the printers so can't comment altough the important part I think was the level of difference between the wrong online price and the correct online price.

Just got the new quote, £799.20 ex vat

    xL
  • I wrote to them copying i the internet acknowledgement and also a screeenshot of the original offer, so waiting for them to comeback.. you never know lol xmas could come early... but i doubt it

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.
  • Well I too like everyone else are finding this section interesting and at times a bit funny.  I just phoned dell customer services and it seems the orders are still being processed but a member of the internet team has to contact me regarding this lol so they said this will either be today or tomorrow.

(I orderd a projector like most people here sunday afternoon)

Should be an interesting phone call lol
