No, the point is that people with kids always seem to do well in this country and that should stop. single people pay just as much tax as anyone else so should be entitled to the same as families
No, too easy. Just gonna bite my tongue and rise above it.
Incidently though, if we didn't have kids there is no way I'd even consider going to a Haven-type park. They are fantastic for a family (and we do usually do these Sun deals), but for a couple or singles there are loads more fun places to go (which aren't full of screaming kids!)Total Debt January 2014 £10,725.44

I don't think there is anyone else on these forums who agrees with me but I can tell you that there ARE people out there who agree with what I've said.minniepoos wrote: »No, too easy. Just gonna bite my tongue and rise above it.

The OH and I used to go on the Sun Hols a few years back and we're a couple with no kids! We'd use the caravan site as a base and zip off for the day sightseeing. For the evening, we'd get ready, go out for a meal (or cook something), then stay onsite some evenings, or go out to nearest town other evenings. We also did this on another holiday with friends of ours (so 2 x couples). Whenever we went to any of the holiday parks (as well as Haven), there would be a mixture of couple (old and young) AND young families. I think the Sun holidays are great for people of different ages, families or couples. Cheap, fun and great to get away from work for a week!

I have been on quite a few sun deals with a priority form but wanted to book a specific weekend this time but no priority form so I emailed the sun directly. They told me priority forms are sent out on a random basis from their database and they are unable to generate one or send me one.
So will probably have to leave this year...shame as I wanted to take my kids to Butlins before christmas as I am working on the day itself but don't want to risk getting a different date.
Will just have to hope next year I get a form in the priority lottery.0 -
Can I ask if you work? If you don't then you certainly can't comment on my posts I make concerning kids as you get all your money from the state which I help pay for. If you do then fair enough you contribute tax as well
Thank you for confirming my opinion of you  I have worked for over 20 years, never been out of work thanks. I am married and the same applies for my husband, we have 1 child and we waited for 12 years after marrying to have her so that we could afford it. I would very much doubt that you pay more tax than we do. So like I said put your green eyes and get on with your life.:rotfl:0 -
Like I said you pay tax as much as any other working person so apologies.Thank you for confirming my opinion of you  I have worked for over 20 years, never been out of work thanks. Nope, that people who work pay far too much tax to keep people who don't/won't work (and never have) and have kids. And I know plenty of those, believe me.
Scoot - you apologised in an earlier post for going off topic - I therefore resisted and respected the urge to reply but you continue.
You assume too much, you will find not everyone who has kids doesnt work, I probably pay more tax than you (although that is an assumption based on your attitudes), everyone I work with who has kids is in a similar boat. There is a minority (albeit growing) of society that has kids, doesnt work, unfairly claims disability, is an illegal immigrant etc of whom I despise but you cant go hijacking theads with these assumptions. It's a political balls up but what can you do !
Everyone on these forums are here to save money and maximise everything they are entitled to - to not do this is foolish. If there are any benefits available to me, any loopholes I can take advantage of then I do so, there would be no point not doing so. Similarly when a motorway lane is closing off I stay in the closed lane as late as possible, apparently that is actually the most efficient way to deal with a lane closure and if I dont do it lots of others will. There is no point taking any moral high ground that then leaves you disadvantaged.0
