    Hi,

Well im pleased to say another NSD for me again (3 in a row):j :j :j .

I do need cooked meat for sandwiches, however, im not going to go to the supermarket just for that because I know myself I will come out with other stuff, so, I will just wait a few more days....hopefully, anyway, there is enough cheese for sandwiches.

Im not sure if I have set my budget too high for September, because we do have alot of food in the freezer, and my SIL emigrated to Canada last week, so she bought up a box full of stuff for me (mostly tins and a few frozen dinners), but, I will keep it at £250, because I will probably need to stock up on meat towards the end of the month. Is that cheating if I do that?

Ive just realised I havent said when my month will end, well, what Im going to do, is just go until the new GC thread is up, ie when October is up because if I go until the end of September, I will have missed the first pages of the October challenge, and I will never get to catch up, and I love reading how everyone is doing (I know I know im a nosey so and so) :p .

    hi all

Spent £4.34 so far and hoping to be well within budget for this first challenge as DH has just bought a motorbike. I have bought half a pig and am going to pick it up on Saturday. Does anyone know what it includes as I forgot to ask?

    Thanks

    Katie

Mine included lots of joints, chops, loin steaks, sausages and burgers. There was no offal cos we said we didn't want it - nobody here will eat it and kidneys scare the dog  :rotfl:

Still need to go and get some Doves Farm yeast, have forgotten it every time I've been out, have got some other yeast but it doesn't make bread as fluffy! And dd3 likes her bread fluffy

Don't think we need anything else food wise at the mo, and I really don't think we could fit any more in the house anyway! Need to check the animals food though.

Spent £25.40 in Mr S on Friday evening on the weekly shop, mostly fresh stuff but a few cupboard bits and pieces too.
Tonight is fat club weigh in for me and footie for OH so quick easy teas - beans on toast or somehing similar. I have plenty of stuff in to last until the weekend, tomorrow may be meatballs and pasta (quorn) or sweet potato wedges with some kind of burger/quorn fillet and a curry on Friday.

  • Hi, can anyone help with this?

The kids are back at school tomorrow and I've still got 3 lunchboxes to buy (I'm not usually this unorganised!) Just popped to Woolies and could only find 3 @ £8.99. Seeing as this is coming out of my GC budget this month, there is no way I was gonna spend nearly £27 on lunchboxes.

Anyone know if Mr A/Mr T or whoever does any cheaper (for girls BTW), so I can pop out this evening to pick up. TIA X
    I need direction to perfection...
  • Well so far have had NSD for about four days now. I will probably have to spend tomorrow but seem to be ok so far. DD2 back at college so am deciding what to make for her and hubby. Freezer is full so i am trying to work my way through stuff in there. Tonight is spag bol, and garlic bread made from whoopsie asda french bread (6p).

Not sure really. They both have cheap ones in but no longer have to buy them. Have you any left from last term? That way you can shop around if necessary.

  • Had to top up today for lunches this week. Got some milk reduced in Somerfield-had to ask as it hadnt been labelled but I got 2 six pint bottles for 51p each! I think I will do a rice pudding tonight.
Also got some reduced chinese style chops-£1.50 for a tray of 2 instead of £3 and bought some giant yorkshire puddings at 30p each. Just done the chops on my george foreman type grill and putting them inside the giant yorkshires with some of the sausage casserole to cover the veg element(had a lot of veg and dumplings in it)so thats also the "gravy" sorted. JUst had mine and it was yummy. Worked out about £1.40 per meal for something really rtruly yummy and as good as any of the local restaurants.
DD23 started a temp job last week and now knows the value of taking in own lunch and not wasting the money she doesnt possess. DS19 had a phone call re a job so Im hoping he gets it. DD14 back to school on Weds so theres enough for her lunch too. Bought 700g pack of ham trimmings in Co-op for about £3.69. Its always really nice-just odd shapes!
I will try to make it last until Friday but they may all guzzle it before. ;+)
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults
