  • Hi to everyone, I've been lurking around MSE OS for quite some time now. Thought it was about time I posted!

Can I be put down for £200 this month please? Compared to some others, this seems a ridiculous for 2 adults and 1 cat, but you should have seen what I used to spend a few months back! September officially started for me on the 22/8.

Don't seem to be doing too well so far, but cupboards and freezer are now well stocked. I've had a trip to Costco to stock up on some bulk things and have already started to batch cook meals. I'm hoping to have a lot of NSD in following weeks! Wish me luck!

Morning! Feeling pleased with how it's going so far, went into Sainsbugs as was passing so we could grab some of their fresh cheap stuff, got a few melons and just need to dig out the melon baller so that I can freeze them ready for the kids packed lunches when the fruit bowl is empty - never seems to stay full for long here! Came out with just melons, oranges, peppers and some natural yoghurt, oh there was a bar of choc for dd2's choc au pains that she was making. So the grocery challenge is doing well, shame that dd3 spotted a High School Musical coat in there, and since she needs a new light coat I paid out £16 for it, ah well, at least the food was cheap!

  • Well, the good news is that I'm well under target for groceries and have stuff in the freezer as well. The bad news is that I think I grossly underestimated my entertainment budget - went dancing last night (15quid) but caught a taxi back so am hugely over budget so far. Will have to try to keep grocery spend very small to make up:o
Still - it was worth it, I didn't have to impose on anyone for a lift, stayed quite late and I had some fab dancers with lots of people I haven't seen for a while:T
