Messed my hairdresser about - what to do?

Opinions please?
Apparently I had a hairdresser's appointment today. Hairdresser phoned to see where I was.
I feel really bad, this is the second time I've done this to her. The 1st was about 8 months ago (ish).
She was nice about it but was obviously (and understandably) not delighted. She booked me in again and joked about me remembering this time.
She's lost out because of this and I feel like I should do something to make amends but not sure what.
I cant really afford to offer to pay for a full missed hairdo (around £28) as well as the hairdo I'll be paying for in a couple of weeks. Should I give her a big extra tip (how much?) or buy some flowers to say sorry or what?
What would you do?

I would just remember to go next time and give her an extra £5 or summit to say your really sorry, she'll appreciate it.xXx0

i wouldnt worry too much, im sure people miss appointments all the time. and most of the time i go to the hairdressers im kept waiting for ages so the odd missed appointment probably does them no harm - allows them to catch up! just give her a decent tip the next time and say sorry again and forget about it.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

I agree with nadnad, I'm sure if you've missed the appointment and shes rang you to ask where you are/re-book she wont be too mad lol. If she works from home, or strictly on an appointment basis then she may have lost out the £28 your cut would have brought in, but as with any business they expect things like this may happen.
If you feel bad for missing the appointment then a nice box of choccies or something along those lines when you go for your next scheduled cut wont hurt.0 -
Bunch of flowers/box of chocs/bottle of wine/grovelling apology BEFORE she starts to cut your hair at your next appointment !.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Also I use my phone to set reminders for practically everything! It works for me, everyone comments on how organised and punctual I am.
I would drop the little gift of for her in a couple of days, it means when you get there for your actual appointment all of that is behind you.0 -
I'm shocked that anyone thinks it's ok to not show up to an appointment that they have arranged and chosen to make. It drives me insane at work - if any of you wonder at the waiting lists in the NHS, have a look at the amount of people that don't show up for their appointment and think it's ok.
Aliasojo I'm pleased you have apologised profusely - it does make a difference to the other person as opposed to the 'oh well never mind' attitude that is just downright rude in my opinion! The hairdresser has lost 2 episodes of business and the subsequent costs that involves so I think a decent tip and/or a box of chocolates and also telling all your family and friends what a good hairdresser she is and directing some new business her way would show her your appreciation.0 -
i think missing a hairdressers appointment is a little different than missing an NHS appointment. And i wouldnt necessarily say it ok to miss an appointment especially on purpose but the OP genuinely forgot.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Thanks all. I'm going to pop in tomorrow with a box of chocs I think, just so she knows I am genuinely sorry and that I'm not being uncaring that I've messed her about.
I hate being messed around myself so I know how annoying it can be.
The phone reminder thing is a good idea but I often dont know where my phone is these days so that kinda defeats the purpose.
I do have quite a problem remembering things just now and I could do with something to help but short of hiring a social secretary, I'm not sure what else might work. A calendar only works if you remember to check it.
Mind you, more sleep might help. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0
