Hello I take my 28 month old swimming with a swim nappy (huggies) and trunks over the top - the trunks have a mesh lining which fits pretty snuggly round the legs and ties up at the top - haven't had any accidents as yet - have you tried trunks over the top?

my husband said the same last night, so i'm going to try that yes. thanks :) or putting him in a girls costume would probably work :rotfl:

You can get boys all in one costumes. Would that not work?

My DS vomitted a small amount of milk once in a VA pool and it was like a military drill when the lifeguard saw. I got a good old ball loxing from them telling me that I should bring back my DS, who was 9MO at the time, ONLY when he had control of his gag reflex... like I can tell him...'DON'T PUKE NOW HOLD IT IN'!!!! It was embarassing enough that the pool needed to close for cleaning, but I didn't need some insensistive non-mother blasting some BS at me.

Anyway, back on track I don't know what size the Tesco Own brand swim nappies go up to, but I find they are better than the huggies ones. Also, the all in one swimsuits for boys can be found in Asda and Matalan and they're on sale at the moment. They have 'leg' bits so if any poo were to escape then at least your DS would feel uncomfortable and could let you know

Just wanted to say good luck with the nappy training, I am trying to train my 3YO at the mo, he has got the hang of it as long gas he doesn't have any clothes on & is at home, taking hiim out or introducing clothes results in an immediate revert to the nappy result! It's so frustrating isn't it.
Anyway, I'm sure the pool incident was a one off & even if it wasn't the staff reacted quickly & followed the correct prodeure in the event of this sort of thing, which happens to pleanty of people & you are not the first or the last, that's why they have the procedure in place!

    Hugs;)

It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical
  • If your DS is learning to swim you could pop him in his swim nappy and a PolyOtter suit, those are the all in one swim suits with floats in, so instead of him thinking he was in a girl's suit he'd be thinking he was learning to swim and moving independantly around the water (supervision still required though). Only snag is that they aren't very MSE coming in at about £20.

    Good luck

    Hi,

Has anyone tried the Tesco Swim Nappies? A couple of quid cheaper and I'm on a bit of a budget, but if they're no good will spend the extra on huggies
