I am not condoning this, but ex H's phone got dipped in a cup of juice by behaviourally challenging ex stepson, opened it up dried it out, it didnt work. ex H gave the phone co a ring and said 'it doesnt work' and they sent him a replacement.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Depends if its still in 12 month warrantary, and on where you got it from.Voda Retail would send it away, have it checked, and if its water damage tell you its not covered.

Be careful, excessive heat wuch as a hair dryer or directly on top of a radiator will potentially more damage to components as they suddenly go from room tempertaure to hot they will expand and break. Open the phone up as much as you can, soak up any excess water with some kitchen towel or something else absorbant and then just leave the phone for at least 24-48 hours to dry out naturally.
If the phone was switched off when it hit the wash this will go in your favour, as you stand a better chance of components not being blown due to shorting.
There was a program on TV a few weeks ago (The Gadget Show - Ch 5), which got various electronic devices and dropped them in a paddling pool. From memory they were and Ipod, Mobile Phone, Digital Camera and a portable radio.
Out of the four items the radio worked fine, except the speaker cone (made from paper) was kaput, the Ipod and digital camera were screwed, but the mobile phone, once it had the battery taken out and was opened up to dry out did come back to life, so there is hope for us all!

take battery out and leave it in airing cupboard for a week (do not try to turn it on)
if no good after that i can try an ultrasonic clean which may fix0 -
My girlfriend washed her trainers - which accidently contained her Nokia camera phone... The xpress-on cover came out smashed into tiny pieces... Don't try turning the phone on (might be too late!!) - take it to pieces and put each individual piece onto an area where there is a decent airflow and warmish (In summer the window ledge is ideal!). Near a radiator would be good - however don't put it directly on top as this would be too much heat. The idea is to get the water to evaporate.
Leave it for approx 1 or 2 days - then put back together.
If this doesn't work - take it to carphonewarehouse and say it just stopped working. (as long as it's in warranty). Casually say you were using it when it was raining the other day - "might that have been it??"
Of course - I'm only joking.
