Techspec...do not want to jump on the bandwagon of defense as I can totally understand that you would have been shocked and offended as I would have been too in your shoes, but please bear in mind though that pash did mean things innocently, it is hard to explain unless you know what a real sweetie pash is.

I hope you decide to stay on this thread and it has not put you off in joining in. I feel I am not alone in feeling it is by far the friendliest thread to hang around in, despite what you may feel after your experience at the moment.

'Till spit' is the current skincare voucher, that the till 'spits' out and we are calling the pink no7/R&M voucher a 'pinky' at the moment.

I can understand your statement earlier about people can easily work things out for themselves as you indeed had, but as with you throwing the TS mag vouchers today, sometimes these things do not appear aparant to even the sharpest of us. It is amazing the glitches some bootsers find, not just by using their head, but sometimes accidently.

I really hope you do feel you can stay about (have a virtual kiss and make up with pash lol)and contribute and join in as not only are there alot of amazing bargains to be found, but alot of wonderful people here too.

Thanks, that explains why i cannot find the original thread, only the quoted version from the kind person who defended me in my absence, realising the offence if might cause.

I had never been onto this thread and was therefore quite excited with my find. I am normally found on the bank charges forum, as you can see from my signature. I only came over here today out of curiosity after you pointed it out to me on the other thread. I was keen to see why people were shopping at Boots, who i consider to be greatly over priced. Now i know why, although i still do not understand what a till split is. Is that the glitch that causes these generous offers to come about? I threw away all my TS coupons earler today (i had 10), only to find out about the glitch where you can get 2 for a penny. Doh!

Anyway, i WAS shocked to read what i did, and i had to look twice when i saw my name, as i do not know this person. Martin's site is here to help the consumer, and he is always asking us to spread the word. So even if i had got the information from you all, i would have shared it. That's the whole point. But i didn't, and did not deserve someone having a pop at me , when i was just helping someone out. But i do apprecaite its removal, although once you have been quoted by another user, then it's easier said than done.

Hi techspec, Welcome to the Boots Grabbit board. I do hope you stay around to find out more, it can be quite eye opening on here ;)

A till spit is issued by the till when you spend a certain amount (The spit changes every 5/6 weeks) The last one was a hair care voucher for £2 when you spent a fiver. Some are better offers than others. The latest one is a really good one, and the best for a long time, hence the popularity and the growth of this thread in recent weeks.

Boots can be very expensive, but if you keep coming on and I hope you do, you will soon find that you won't have to pay full price for anything there. Also there are lots of freebies available.

Although theoretically you have to spend £5 to get them, there are ways around it. eg. There is a mitchum voucher available, whereby you can reduce the price of the deodorant by £1.50 therefore only paying 15p for a spray deodorant. If you buy 2 sprays and 1 roll on, and give in the 3 Mitchum vouchers. you will only pay 59p and you will get the till spit and the £5 pink voucher (pinky).

(The till recognises that the items cost over £5 before the Money off coupons) That is just one example and there are loads.

I think you will fit in really well here, and BTW I love what you have done on your bank charges. Well done :T :T

[STRIKE][/STRIKE]Thanks broclo, i wasn't sure about hanging around, as its not a good start is it lol.

I have now spotted the post from pash, accepting it might cause offence and deleting the post, suggesting others also remove the quotes. I had not seen this when i posted my angry response (i am sure you aware just how big this thread is). Had i done, i might not have responded at all, as it has clearly been sorted out and everyone had moved on.

I did find that glitch accidentally, and thats why i posted it on here. But i know there are loads more on here, and thats why i love MSE. I wasn't saying i can work out all the glitches and bargains, but just pointing out that i had not copied this particular one.

I will draw a line under it now though, although pash has not seen my post yet.

Hey, who cares how you started to join in, your here now eh :T

Bless Pash, she will probably have a panic as she really, really, is the sort of person to feel gutted if she thinks your upset!

In case you have missed(although well done for finding out about the TS in this massive thread) them, there are 2 for £4 on lynx at the moment and it includes the duo packs which are normally £4.99, so 4 cans for £4 :) plus there is a buy any two jemma kidd and get 500 points, but nail files are only £2 each, so you make £1 technically :)

Arrh, another thing i have learned. I thought the money you handed over had to be £5. I have many coupons, but thought i wouldnt get my 2 vouchers if i used them and didn't hand over the full £5.

Glad this offer isn't over, lol, i havent finished with Boots yet :D

Thanks for the welcome. The bank charges were hard work, but i have finished now, as i have got all my money back with interest. That's why i can now afford to shop in boots :rotfl: . I will be grateful to Martin for the rest of my life for what he has done through this site and on TV.

Wow, I think i better go get a notebook and pen for my visit to boots tomos. Its a good time to get ahead on presents, whilst this offer is on.

Got 4 skincare and 4 no.7 vouchers to spend yet. The store where i am staying as hardly any stock left, but a lot of customers with nice skin. :D

If Boots are serious about this prosecution they need to stop the multiple purchase of mags by amending the till and training it's staff! I cant see how it would go to court when the customer has to read the small print to realise it is technically one per card. The display stand just says £1 or free to AC holders. I am sure this will affect lots of people , not just MSE Bootsters. When the vouchers are giving away a free product , most people will try it more than once !

Sorry, I disagree. Most people will only be interested in a voucher if they actually use the product. Even then, they may well forget. If they ever noticed.

I had one of the H&B mags, I have long hair. I put it in the recycling pile because I've never been interested in Trevor Sorbie products. And it never crossed my mind that I might get another one deliberately.

I pulled that magazine out of the recycling when I discovered this thread, and used the TS glitch. And then got another two copies.

I haven't yet used the TS products, but I have seen a number of comments that they're not really very good. So, can I really claim that I'm using the glitch because I rate the product? Or because (having read those comments) I think they make a good gift. Personally, I can't.

Not reading the small print is the customers problem - not the store's. On the coupons, the print is not that small, and it's quite clear.

And anyone who has read this thread, and its predecessors, cannot claim to be unaware of the grey areas, the small print, or the potential risks.

So I can't agree with your rationale. Sorry.

If your stuck for ideas try the first post, CPG kindly put a link to the cheap no7 and skincare items on it...although we are finding all ruby and millie bags go through free(gorgeous things-priced at £8.50 on SEL), plus lovely no7 leather look case with a nail file, no7 leather look cosmetic bags and the no7 moisturising gloves too :)

Thank you so much for the info, ladyluck. Please don't think we're "shooting the messenger" with the follow-up comments - I'm sure we're all grateful for the heads-up! (and nervous too!)

I'll be really interested in how this is handled, if it's followed through.

I've bought PC vouchers on Ebay and used them - not sure if I could be accused of 'fraudulent activity' (although I know that's not what is being discussed). I did manage a few TD coupons and TS deals, but not seen a mag for a while. I don't tend to do the 'money off your shopping' glitches, as these make me nervous - but each to their own

Have to admit that I'd have hoped that Mr B would've either put up notices warning of a crack-down on people taking too many mags or re-jigged the tills to make it possible to only get only one mag free with each ad card before taking such drastic action though!

    Again - sorry but...

Why should it be necessary to state that Advantage Card holders only get one free copy of a £1.00 magazine? (If it's not already stated).

Also, some people (like me) forget what magazines they have already got. So why embarrass them at the till? Are people here really saying that they want the till to beep for everyone who genuinely forgets that they've had a free H&B magazine?

The vouchers are clear about the one per person thing. This thread, and its predecessors, has brought it up. MSE Bootsers know about this point. Even I'm aware of it now, and can't truthfully blame amnesia for getting another H&B mag.

Personal responsibility guys. Whether the till beeps or not, we know what the small print says. It's up to us what we do about that.
