Has anyone recieved anything from ePinnacle yet?

I ordered a Sony PSP from ePinnacle on the 28th November 2005. I paid through their third party payments handler 2checkout.com. I received an order confirmation, and the funds were taken from my bank account.

I received no notification of despatch, so I sent a number of emails requesting the status of my order. I was advised that there was a delay due to the number of Christmas orders. Eventually my order status was updated to 'order processed-passed to warehouse' on the 6th December 2005, so I was happy in the knowledge that my order would be despatched.

This morning I received an email from 2checkout.com, advising that they had been instructed to refund my account.

I have logged into ePinnacle to check my order status, which is now showing 'cancelled' due to problems with 2checkout.com. The message advises that if I wish to proceed with the order, I should make payment using an alternative method for which they will provide a 5% discount. They also advised that I would receive a refund within 1 hour.

I have tried to contact ePinnacle by telephone and by email. The telephone number is simply an answerphone message which cuts off, and I have had no response to my emails. Their online support desk is constantly offline! I have not received my refund, and have contacted 2checkout.com who advise that they are no longer accepting orders from ePinnacle due to "epinnacle wishes to be paid for products that have not been delivered to our buyers. That is contrary to the terms of the Supplier Agreement for 2Checkout.com vendors." I have been advised that the refund will be in my account in 7-10 days.

I have paid for an expensive item which has not been despatched. I now need to wait for 7-10 days for a refund, and so it looks like I won't be able to order the item from another supplier prior to Christmas.

I am annoyed to say the least!!!

I have submitted a report on https://www.ixat.net which can be viewed here:-

    http://ixat.net/Default.asp?PageID=24&BranchID=4207

I have also reported ePinnacle to my local trading standards office.

Can I suggest that other users who have experienced problems do likewise?

    Regards

PS - I have just received an email from 'Ken' advising that they are chasing my refund - I await with baited breath!
  • Under NO circumstances trade with ...........http://www.epinnacle.co.uk/
they take your money and all you get are lies and deceit
their Website is a joke, phony stock levels, constantly change each time you go to it and all the time they lie about being buried in vast quantities of the product that you have ordered...
their blurb on their website needs to be read never have i seen so many opt out clauses.... and boy have they used every one of them

how this company could hope to gain anything from blatently lying and giving false information at every opportunity i do not know !

ALL PEOPLE WANT IS THE TRUTH good or bad if they dont have stock why lie about it and take peoples money with false delivery promises

WAKE UP EPINNACLE.......................................this is the 21st Century...

i have lodged formal complaints with various bodies including the DTI and anyone who has had problems i suggest to all that they do the same
.....unless the complaints flood in this sham of a company will continue trading

Below is my last email to them........

Please arrange for a full refund of the £199.99 chq that you cashed on 29/11/05- you already have our PayPal info so would like the refund straight to the paypal ac asap.
We are not happy with the service this company has provided and feel we have been "fobbed off" with regards to your stock & delivery time- please see our history as below=
    * Order made using PayPal 14/11/05- advised by Ken would be recd 5-10 w/days
    * Chased order 23/11 to be informed that order had been cancelled due to probs with PayPal. If sent chq/made credit card paymt would upgrade to Giga pk.
    * Paula advises 23/11 as soon as chq recd, would mail order in 2 days-no waiting for any clearance of chq.
    * Paula advises 28/11 that she was "surrounded by stock" & had reserved our item as soon as chq arrived.
    * Ken advises 28/11 chq recd & my order was being "processed"
    * I therefore again queried what was happening, in view of Paula's earlier comments- informed by Ken 29/11 "delay with items coming thru' from Royal Mail" and the item would be despatched "shortly"
****MY CHQ WAS CASHED ON 29/11/05****
    * Ken- 29/11- would chase with Paula as would need to find out where she had "lodged" our item, as delay getting products from supplier.
    * Ken- 2/12- now "lodged" for us & would be posted that weekend.
    * I then emailed 2/12 & 7/12 plus several of these "contact sheets" to try and get the 13 digit tracking ref to trace item with Royal Mail====NO RESPONSE ATALL!!!

As I am sure you can appreciate if you put yourself in our position, we feel that we never seem to get a "consistent" answer to our enqs. You had our money on 29/11, we are now at 10/12 & still no item. Your website states this item as being "in stock", Paula advises she is "surrounded by stock" on 28/11, then informed by ken that delays in getting your stock.
We have had enough now, and are just not use to this when have dealt with other internet companies (which we do on a regular basis). This is the 1st time we have had probs of this nature when buying goods on internet & basically not good enough.
Please refund straight away & cancel our order. If this is not dealt with satisfactorily, then we will be taking the matter up with Trading Standards. I work in Local Govt & we do have our own Trading Standards section who state they are happy to take this up.
Also, from trawling the net we have found many other customers not happy with your service & advising others not to use your Company- seceral people mention that the tv programme-" WatchDog" may be interested.

It is not pleasant to have to make a complaint against you as above, but really feel that your level of customer service and care is below today's accepted standards, with regards to what has been advertised and what the customer actually receives.

  • Update:

Just a note that I have now received my refund from epinnacle (via 2checkout.com) and so have ordered the PSP from play.com.

I hope the rest of the users being messed around manage to get a satisfactory outcome.

In any event my complaint has already been lodged with the local trading standards.

  • Hi Sparky61, mine took about 6 days to come which included the weekend :snow_laug , very good service and it works no problem the only thing you have to do is change the setting to English when you switch it on for the first time apart from that it is great, all games work as they are region free and UK region for films is the same as japan, although it is easier to buy films in mp4 format or change your DVDs yourself and download them on to the sony memory card (1gb holds about 2 films), good luck. :xmassign:
  • where is the best place to buy a 1.5v or a 2.0v PSP

  • Hi Markofkent, you will struggle now to get the 1.5 version, the only place is probably going to be ebay, as far as the 2.0 a few shops may have some but again probably ebay, it tends to be the 2.5 or even the 2.6 now. I am sure give it a couple of months you will be able to download games on to the newer version (which of course is probably not legal, but oh well)

  • Psp's are getting harder to get hold off at a decent price. I've ended up with a spare one so if anyone around Birmingham is after one, at cost with warrenty & version 2.0 firmware pm me.

I know the rules say something about not selling stuff but i'm not making a profit on this, more to help out someone who wants one & doesn't want to get ripped off.
