Aria seem to have imported a load of Japanese PSP's - apparently they're the same as the UK ones apart from Japanese writing on the box and an adapter for the power (comes with it)

Bit overpriced I think at £222.08 inc VAT tho
<edit - sorry for putting this in a new thread - I couldn't find the existing one because the search doesn't allow me to search for "PSP" - not enough letters in it>

If you get a PSP with version 1.5 firmware their is a way of playing games via the memory card, these are emulators of nintendo & other systems as well as the current psp games.
Sony fixed this "expliot" by introducing version 1.51 & 1.52 firmware, then v2.0 and so on.
However I understand that if you have a version 2.0 firmware this can be "downgraded" to a 1.5.
1.51 & 1.52 can be upgraded to v2.0 and then hence downgraded to 1.5. But no method has been found on v2.1 upwards.
I understand that most giga packs are at least v2.1 upwards.
I have a spare v2.0 uk console with warrenty from Argos0 -
Can anybody help please?
My daughter has bought the white ceramic psp and the AC adaptor will not fit in a uk plug.
It's like this one http://us.st11.yimg.com/store1.yimg.com/I/hartsunlimited_1873_1252702
I've been googling and can't find anything.
Did anyone else with the white ceramic one get this adaptor and if so how did you get round connecting the charger?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

my white psp came with an adaptor, but all you need is a standard UNIVERSAL travel adaptor which you can get from pl;aces like boots and superdrug etc (in the travel section beside sun cream etc) or in a whsmith in an airport/railway stationThe word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

you're dead right, 2.1 upwards CANNOT be downgraded as yet
worse still, as newer games are released, the firmware requirements will go up too (the new grand theft auto game requires 2.0 or better)
however, those in the know are still working on an exploit for firmwares 2.1-2.5 so it still may be cracked.
oh, and remember, 2.6 has now been releasedThe word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

A word of warning about the PSPs from http://www.neodiscs.com/ ( I found the link on this forum somewhere!!!). I have purchased one of their Gigapacks (firmware level 1.52). It arrived very promptly, but it is a Hong Kong Region 3 machine. This means it will not play UK region 2 UMD films, only converted fillms that are on the Memory stick, and whilst it plays and game at the moment, this could all change in the future if Sony choose to region lock games as well. Their advert does not state this fact anywhere. I have mailed them twice, and am waiting for a reply.0

:xmassign: A wee handy tip......you don't actually need to buy a travel adapter. The voltage range of the power supply is 110v - 240v (approx) therefore all you need to do is either cut off the two pin plug and replace with a three pin (UK) plug or use the lead from an old casette recorder. :snow_grin
P.S Don't panic when you cut the plug off you will see a black and a white wire. WHITE = NEUTRAL BLACK = LIVE :rudolf:
I bought a PSP in the US for my son and just cut the original plug off when we got home........no problems so far! :xmastree: :santa2:In the words of David Brent "Statistics are like a lamp post to a drunken man, more for leaning on than illumination"0 -
Or you could just use the power lead from an old PS1 or PS2 if you dont have a PS1.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Just showing my age again...keep forgetting that things have moved on quite a bit from the days of the cassette recorder :snow_grin
Bring back 8 track...Long live the Music Centre :rudolf:
