All of you lucky people who have just got out of your '3' contract........
(see here for more details on this http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=104497)
You should be legally allowed to have your mobiles unlocked for only £15..(cost may vary depending on handset). :j
It is only when you are 'within your 12month contract' that the cost is £115 from the network it's self. And as we are out now this no longer applies !!!
Yay for us, my number port goes through on the 14th so I will update you all when mine is unlocked to confirm.

looks like 3 are giving out conflicting information to its customers. Next week Ill be calling and sorting this out.
Ill keep calling till I get the answer I want0 -
u always hear different stories from 3
first when i called on numerous occasions they
told me i can unlock the phone for 215 (or something!) -
i told them where to go
then after several other calls they told me £15!!! they even took the payment....
. and said that i will get a callback within 5days from the technical support dept who will go through the procedure with me to unlock my 6630
5 days later.............. no call (not suprised)
called and the CS ADVISER told me that technical dept have sent an email saying that they cannot unlock NOKIA- hence they have refunded the £15.00 charge
after loads of complaints about this- they say THREE cannot supply the code for NOKIA- and told me to go back to the dealer or nokia!
  THERE IS NO HOPE     :mad:Dont forget to Press the *THANKS* button

That could be an interesting <g> situation.
You asked for the phone to be unlocked, Three agreed to provide you with details of how to unlock the phone at a charge of £15, and took your payment.
There would therefore appear to be a contract between you and Three.
Three now want to get out of the contract.
It would appear that you have a right to refuse the refund and demand that Three satify their side of the contract and provide you with the details of how to unlock your phone. If they do not, then you should be able to claim damages e.g. the difference in value between your locked phone and a similar unlocked one, or the cost of getting it unlocked elsewhere.
There may still be hope.0 -
thanks for the advice
but i have spoken to managers / technical support advisors they just do not
have the software/ facility to unlock NOKIA phones *only*
so i guess there is no luck for meDont forget to Press the *THANKS* button

have a Nokia 6630 which is locked to "Three" at the moment.
I know that it can not be unlocked normally. And the service provider has to unlock it.
But has anybody actually got "Three" to unlock one of these phones.
I was initially told that they could do it for £215, while in contract, told me it is cheaper once contract has expired.
But my contract has now finished and they are saying they cant do it.
I was just wondering what other people experiences of getting them unlocked are.
