Not really done a proper update for a while, have i? Where to begin...
Right, doctor said, when i went back the 2nd time, that the changes work were making were quite positive and would hopefully help. When i told him about the other things i had been feeling and hadn't really considered that it may be because of illness, he said i had had been having anxiety attacks and possibly panic attacks too. I'm not really sure about what to do about that. At work i now have a set time when i can be left alone to work on the programming (although i do still get interruptions and did none at all last week because we were too busy - not sure if that was a one-off due to all the public holidays). I'm not adding to the stress, but not sure boss has really taken it on board that any pressure at all on me can make me ill. Even just going into a meeting room for a chat about some work has me very uncomfortable and feeling quesy - he's a very easy going guy and easy to talk to, but it seems that the smallest thing can set me off sometimes. Not sure how i can work through that though.

Moneywise, i wasn't any better off trying to do a money transfer to pay off the loan early, then repay the transfer at 0%. I think though that in August/September i may have saved enough to pay off the loan so that's my next target. It will leave me with no savings though so we'll need to see if there is anything else that comes up in the interum. I might then be able to pay off folks in January/February and be totally debt free. Will need to then probably get rid of a few of the credit cards i've got - i have too many and hope i won't be needing them again.

Secondary money item that i've been thinking about is a mortgage. I don't have any savings to speak of and if i don't get a mortgage before i'm 40, it could prove to be more difficult to get one. Only put a little thought into this, but i think i'll need to investigate what my option may be right now and how that may alter when reaching 40. I saw something on TV that triggered this, but can't remember what it was about. Something to do with retirement ages increasing but banks not really taking this into account.

I've done a little excercise, but still quite self-conscious about it - even in the house. I think the best method is short burst of strenuous exercise to get some kind of fitness back, then try to concentrate on core muscles before trying weights and power-type excercising. I'm not going to injure myself again - i'm too unfit to continue as i am. Will probably try walking a bit more - just hope the hayfever doesn't get too bad this year.

I'm running around after my dad a little bit, but he's only been out of hospital for a week. Seems like the hip op went fine so he just now needs to focus on not doing anything silly and doing the exercises to get him back and walking. He needs to watch that he doesn't bend to more than 90º for his leg/waist for another month or so, but after that he should be okay. It's only fetching and carrying stuff i need to do so no real hardship - once he starts milking it though...

Now, what else was there? Oh yes... I met SW
Blimey, that girl can talk :)
I met up with Steve, Andy, 3Dogs and Beanie too. Unfortunately i wasn't feeling too good so hope i didn't ruin the day too much for them. Was just so tired and feeling bleugh. It was good to meet them all and SW isn't scared of me anymore. We just chatted for a few hours, did a little shopping and a little sightseeing. I am generally quite quiet, but i think i was a little more so that day - partially because i couldn't get a word in with SW going ten to the dozen ;) but i think i can be safe in saying i was having an off day. Everyone seemed to enjoy Edinburgh though (once the rain stopped) and i'm glad to have met them all.

Computer access is a little tricky right now. Internet connection seems to be playing up a little - disconnecting every few minutes and it's a little tricky to use my computer as mum is now sleeping in this room. Dad wouldn't survive with a dodgy hip and having mum in the same bed - just wouldn't be safe.

Hopefully it won't be quite so long until the next update and i'll try to keep on top of the exercise. Not sure how you get rid of the stress and anxiety if you can't actually do less work, but i'll work on that.

Hope everyone else is doing okay.
    George

Hey i was trying to cut down on the talking for your benefit! Darn i will learn how to shut up one day.:rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:PS you didn't ruin the day. It made our day to meet you. Everyone thought you were utterly charming and wonderful.
Glad you posted. Why do you want a mortgage George? It is good you are planning for the future and thinking of it but do have some rewards for all your hard work first. Then you can plan away.

    Jolly well done on finances.
