Really sorry to hear your news George. Try and stay strong. It's times like these when we try to think of things to make us feel better. Just remember that a bet won't do that.
We'll all be here to offer support when you feel up to posting again.

I am so sorry to hear about your Gran George. I hope you are ok and as others have said you will be in our thoughts and prayers.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Oh George; I hadn't seen this thread.
You are an inspiration.

Just going to update my signature now.
Done all the transfers i can - just waiting for a nil statement from RBS before trying to do the final BT from LloydsTSB. Not sure if the interest on LTSB is being deducted daily but the balance has been steadily increasing. I think by the time i get my RBS statement it will probably be an extra £100 in total.
Folks came back home on Friday - I went to grampa's on Saturday. Thought they were coming too but they were going elsewhere. When they came back on Sunday (today), dad had opened a letter from Virgin so he found out before i got a chance to tell him.
Asking what it would take to get me to change. "Do i need to throw your out before you realise what you're doing". I tried to apologies and explain that i was more aware of how my problem works and what i am doing to try to deal with it. He told me i should probably go bankrupt or seek advice from CAB. I told him i could cover the minimum payments but he doesn't believe me. Asked if i was trying to put him in an early grave. When i tried to explain what had triggered it, he just said don't try blaming this on your gran. You may have shed a few tears but don't pretend this has affected you.
ouch.
I told him i owe just under £24k in total (including the first time).

George
I'm sure that was an awful conversation, but you have been honest and not tried to hide anything.
The next few weeks will no doubt be hard for the whole family. It's easy to say harsh things when we are upset.
Hang in there - we are all thinking of you

Oh George I am so sorry, about your Gran firstly, but also about the conversation with your Dad, I wish I cold show him the help you have given people here. Its not much help but people say things in the heat of the moment
I was so pleased to find your diary again I must subscribe(!) but sad to see you have having a tough time.
You will do this George, you just keep going ok? we are all here and I have a similar amount of debt so lets do it xxxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hey George,
I always love your sensible and sensitive posts so I have complete faith in your ability to sort this all out.
I'm ever so sorry to hear about your Gran. I lost both of my grandmothers in March so I know It leaves a painful little old lady shaped hole in your life. I was surprised at how hard it hit me so take it easy on yourself.
And don't let what your Dad said upset you, it's an emotional time for your whole family at the moment and I'm sure you can empathise with his feelings about your problems as well. Would it be worth prioritising paying him back to show him you mean business?
Best of luck my sweet!
