Currys...can I elevate a complaint?

Options
Hi, I've complained to Currys customer service team but I'm not happy with the response they have sent me (to say the least!). Does anyone know if there is another 'level' of complaining that I can begin with them? The email address of the customer services manager or suchlike would be nice.
Cheers.

Good luck, the complaints team deny there is any tier above them  . Nothing I have tried has worked so far which tells me the company doesn't care about maintaining goodwill, custom etc. I would love to know if and how you get this sorted. Hope your experience is better than mine, which is still not resolved: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1100387

    Hiya,

    try writing a letter of complaint to the head office address which is;

    DSGi Plc
    Maylands Avenue,
    Hemel Hempstead Ind Est,
    Hemel Hempstead,
    Hertfordshire
    HP2 7TG

Address it to Currys Customer Service Manager or somesuch.

Wish I could be of more help but I work for PC World and only know the names of our customer services top-people although Currys and PC World are part of the same group (DSGi)

    Best of luck

    Kimberley

PS make sure to send your letter recorded delivery and outline that you want a response within a certain timescale such as 10 working days.

20+ years ago I bought something from Currys which was advertised with a very worthwhile free gift. When I unpacked the parcel at home the gift was not enclosed as I had been told it was.

I rang the shop who told me that they had run out of the gift and, therefore I wouldn't get it.

I took the item I had bought back, stood in the shop and demanded a refund which I eventually got and I have absolutely refused to buy from them since.

I have recently been looking for a tumble dryer and was told about one on offer in Currys but frankly I would rather pay more and go elsewhere.

I have never come across worse customer service in any shop I have dealt with and the surprise (to me anyway) is that they are still trading and, presumably making a fortune!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Not sure how this would work any better than an e-mail unless you address it for the particular attention of Peter Keenan: http://www.dsgiplc.com/layout.aspx?ID=cfbd39d2-0fcc-4587-bfef-dcf4d07d4b0f&CatID=4b6e0e87-cb71-4d08-ad22-2480487dc2e9

I wasn't saying it would work better than an email, I just didn't have an email address to give :)

  • I was concerned to learn of the difficulties you have experienced with your Panasonic microwave.
The name of our Managing Director is Peter Kennan, although he can not be contacted by phone
you may wish to write to him at the following address and make your correspondence for his
    attention.

    Currys customer Service
    P.O.Box 1687
    Nunnery Square
    Sheffield
    S2 5YA

    Hope this helps
  • With the best will in the world, I wouldn't bother writing to that address. That is simply the customer service centre and it's unlikely that the letter will reach it's recipient.

Write to the Head Office. It's

    Maylands Avenue,
    Hemel Hempstead,
    Herts

Sorry, don't have the postcode to hand. At least it will reach his PA rather than be added to the pile.

    Hope this helps

As far as I know from reading complaints like the ones on this board and other review sites there seems to be very few people who will stand up and say otherwise.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
