From reading the ISP's website it states:

Clause 34.1 of the Code requires the promoter to indicate ‘the minimum number and nature of any prizes’. It goes on to say that if prizes are to be awarded in instalments or are to be shared among recipients this should be made clear

From reading Andrex's terms and conditions, they did not state there would be a minimum amount of prizes awarded, they just decided not to award them all - worth a complaint?

I definitely think this should be reported to the ISP, not sure if I am the right person to do it though as I only found the game late and didn't play it because it had been going for ages with no winners...seemed a bit suspect at the time! Surely if they had any sense they would launch a fair competition for all the un-allocated prizes? Because otherwise surely they'd just be there anyway...unless it's all one big scam and there were never the prizes in the first place!

    Surely not!

    too many comps..not enough time!

    I'll report them!!

I have wasted a lot of time on this. The nearer it got to the end the easier I thought it would be to win as it seemed no-one.or few had won anything yet! I felt the odds would get better!

My whole family got sick to death of me "just having a quick go!!" my oh got quite cross as he knew how much time I was wasting!!

I'll let you know how I get on!!

Chick, the probablity is that there were specific times (probably down to the tenth of a second!) allocated to each prize - therefore theoretically possible to win every prize, but of course it they are not getting hit at the right time then the prize is missed.

They are operating legally, unfortunately these type of 'instant win' don't work the same as prize draw type comps.

There are companies which would run the competitions for Andrex, who use various statisics and probablity (ie run a risk assessment) and work out how much it will cost the company to run, whilst insuring them so they don't get stung for the full prize allowance.

googled the address of the winners list:
    Simpson Mahoney Parrock Ltd.: S M P
Castle House 27 London Road , Tunbridge Wells, TN1 1DB

I'm sure you're right Josie, but maybe it might be worth it a shot. If I were Andrex I would definitely be taking a leaf out of ITV's book though, and actually introducing some decent competitions that people had a chance of winning. That way they might go some way to fixing their reputation which has definitely been damaged from this! No way I will ever buy their products again.

I only entered a few times as it was just too tedious. But I really feel for those of you that spent time on this comp. So I have emailed Andrex and cc'ed the email to Watchdog so that Andrex can see that it has gone to Watchdog and wasn't just an idle threat.

I hope something comes from it.

Update : PM me and I will start a list

Could we get a list of names and emails addresses together and send it in one big email to watchdog and CC that to Andrex. So how many vouchers would they issue then. lol

It would be nice to know what the winners actually won and what the total Prize fund was for the winners.

I must have entered the comp over 100 times and so did my wife.

    From the T&C's
    4. The Prizes:
There are 916 prizes to be won throughout the duration of the promotion from 28/04/2008 to 15/08/2008. The prizes are worth £500,000 in total.

If they state this above should there be a total of 916 prizes ?
