With a bit of luck, there is enough information on here to make even the most simple minded people see what a bunch of crooks you people are.
I hope the recession bites deep into your World roughandready86 and you find yourself signing on.0 -

Club??? How many clubs do you know who alter their rules of association without a single thought for their members? Who use lies, bribery and corruption to lure in unsuspecting victims? Who think they can tie in members for life against all laws of natural justice (and they will be found out on this one)? This 'Club' has more in common with Auschwitz than any club I know. Your comments are thoroughly despicable and you should hang your head in shame to be a part of this scam.0 -
I've been a member for about 14 years (LSI then GVC then Sunterra before DRI). My maintenance fees are about £1500 per year and for that I get a lot of holidays. This year I've been skiing in Austria and taken friends (2 apartments), a week in Norfolk (sleep 4), a week in the Bavarian Alps in August (2 apartments, sleep 8) and a week in Kent in October (sleep 2) - and I've still got enough points left for a week in France but haven't got enough holiday left from work!
When our children were at school our points were sufficient for a 2-bed apartment for 2 weeks in the summer school holiday and again for a week in October half-term.
Yes, the maintenance fees have gone up a lot but the standard of the accommodation in the resorts has also gone up. The original reason we bought into 'timeshare' was that we were sick of renting apartments and then having to clean them before we could enjoy the holiday... Or that the furniture fell apart or the bedlinen was ancient. At least we now know that we're going to a good quality, well fitted apartment in a well-kept resort.
That's my two-pennorth! Anyone buying in should think long and hard whether it's right for them as it's not something you can easily get out of but it's worked for us.0 -
Here are some articles in the Daily Mirror about Diamond Resorts:

A couple who cannot afford to pay the annual fee:
"We too have contacted Diamond to say we cannot afford to pay the 2009 fee. We did however have a response saying that basically unless we are declared bankrupt, are over 75 with health problems affecting our income, or dead (for which they need a death certificate!) then we have got to pay."
Read the comments from unhappy customers at the bottom of the article and then make your mind up.0 -
My wife and I have Diamond Resorts (previously Sunterra) points, and have had so for about 7 years. They can be quite expensive to buy, but once paid for, the apartments are generally of very good quality. In fact we are off to the Caribbean at the end of May for 2 weeks.
It isn't a scam or a con, and the sales pitch we had was persistent but not as over the top as described, and done in a beautiful house/resort previously owned by Kitchener, and south of Canterbury.
It is not for everyone and certainly those who have more flexibility in their holiday arrangements will benefit most.0 -

And the posters outside Lord Kitcheners timeshare sales residence, south of Canterbury read....

roughandready86.... the reason you are being slagged off is because those clowns you are enjoying working for are trapping people in finance commitments they are unable to get out of.
I don't own, never have, certainly never will, any part of you bunch of scammers.
The members who fall on hard times financially certainly are screwed because they cannot forsake the thousands of pounds commitment to these holidays. If it were anything like the dream you are making it out to be, there would be a rush of customers and the membership points would be much sought after.
You are blinkered by your pay cheque, hopefully there won't be many more of those.0 -
roughandready - why haven't you the curtesy to answer mpython's questions? Are you too embarassed to tell the truth?0
