    ORIGINATING UNITED KINGDOM -
THE PROVISIONS BELOW APPLY ONLY AS FOLLOWS -
TICKETS MAY ONLY BE SOLD IN NORTH AMERICA.

how does everyone interpret this? I see it as expedia.com.au breaking NW airlines rules by selling tickets from outside North America????
  • I see it as, if you book your flight from america which by the way you could not as it does not let you, you would be charged the fuel surcharge. If you book from United Kingdom you do not pay.

lisaloo, but what I pasted doesn't mention America and fuel surcharges, just that "tickets may only be sold in North America"?

Looks like you don't need to go via AMS? I seem to get the cheap price without having to go via AMS, just Paris on the way back.
  • Yes but you need to read the rest of it to make sense for these flights. It says if you book from United Kingdom you do not pay that charge.

People are flying next week, so we will know for certain soon enough. I think

  • fare is dead now unfortunately. All NW flights have been pulled from expedia.com.au.
  • VERY tempting! Just found a MCR - JFK 8-13 April 09, £158 each!

On the UK Expedia website the exact same flight is £296 each.

I don't understand why the huge difference in price if we are allowed to book from the AU site?

Gutted justchris82 - above flight is now £316 on Aus site (exactly double - odd), exactly the same on UK site. hmph. We snooze we lose!!!!

I was half expecting to come into work to an email saying there had been a mistake and that the tickets had been cancelled...but there wasn't! :D

Now eagerly awaiting reports from the first (hopefully successful) people to take their trip! If anyone is going soon, please provide info when you are back!!

Please excuse me if I'm being a bit thick, but if it's an Aussie website, then don't the flights originate in Australia? How is that any good to little old me in the UK?

Don't get me wrong, I would dearly love a lovely (cheap) holiday somewhere exotic, but don't want the cost of hiking over to Sydney to get my cheapie flight!!
