Yes, actually, it does cost - it cost me about £2 not much - at least it seemed to for this ticket.

Secondly "the OP" nice how you suddenly remove me from my own thread.

I thanked the person who agreed with me, simply because this is the only one who gave an answer. Everyone else comments on what I have written, arguing against my actions. Why reply if the only thing you do is judge my actions?

I come on here for some advice, and then I simply get everything I wrote questioned, and my actions questioned. Why?

I was told this was a good, friendly, forum. So far all but one person has actually given me advice.

    What a welcome.

My mummy always told me that children should give up their seats for older people, so being "only 15" doesn't mean that you have more right to a seat. If you paid for a children's ticket, then actually, you have less right!

So because I am a child I have less right -- I dont think so.

And I HAVE RESERVED A SEAT But that does not count for anything, quite obviously.

Obviously, this isnt somewehere for helpful advice, just to be analyzed and told in fact everything I am saying is wrong.

Well it is a forum where you post for advise isn't it? you asked for advise and you got it, just because people quoted parts of your letter you had a strop.

everyone is not going to agree with you and you need to understand that 15 or not :D

    Yeah I accept that.

Do you not agree that in actual fact, I am asking advice on is it a valid claim of complaint.

Instead of "yes" or "no... because this that or the other" in fact I get oh well because you are a child you dont have as much of a right to a seat. Or the fact I reserve a seat and thus expect it to be available... sorry but my opinion is completely different. Does this answer my question? I think not.

Oh Im not having a strop, im replying. Sorry I dont mean it to come over as a strop.

Thats ok, some people are simply trying to say that parts of your letter would not help your claim like being a 15 year old. you should receive the same service if you were, 15, 25, 35. or even 95 i think that is what they were trying to put across

Yet others contradict this with the fact that because I bought I child seat I do not deserve a seat as much as an adult.

Whilst others suggest that I should allow someone to sit in a seat I have reserved... surely if I have booked it I should get it over someone who is using open tickets?

You see what I mean, helpful advice like yours buttercup is far more helpful than that of juno and ms chocaholic.

Therefore, I would like to know how this issue will be resolved for future passengers.

Things go wrong sometimes. What do you want them to say here? They can't guarantee nothing will ever go wrong again so why are you asking? Also, thats the sort of thing someone in that company may ask, you don't run it so you're not really in a position to expect them to answer to you as if your some director of the company etc.

The part about you not liking the direction of the seat is a joke.

For them to do what? You don't appear to be at much of a loss.

All sounds a bit whiney to me.

I know you don't seem to want people writing anything other than what you want to see. That seems you like things very much your own way, maybe you go over the top a bit with this. Because if at 15 your already writing complaints over relatively trivial things you're going to spend your life constantly annoyed at something or other.

If you don’t like travelling facing backwards then why insist in sitting in a backward facing seat. You chose to sit in it.

Were there any train company staff available on the train? They may have been able to find you a forward facing seat in a less crowded part of the train if you had asked, you never know.
Who knows, that may be exactly where the person who was in your seat ended up moving to.

What site did you use to purchase the ticket? Was the £2 for seat reservation or something else, like insurance or card fee.

I booked from cross country's own site but I couldn't give you an analysis of costs.

I insisted on a backward facing seat because it was, at least, the only seat in my carriage, people were standing up. I had reserved a seat, which is what the whole thing is about!!

I couldn't have stood for an over three hour journey with my case in the middle of the isle, it was literally packed. So I insisted I at least sat in a seat that was facing backwards.

Do you feel I have grounds for complaint, this was my question ?? :D
