My daughter was easily in a size 10H when she was 3!!!
She is almost five now and is due to start school in 2 weeks and I have just had to buy her a Clarks size 12 1/2 H. I agree with the previous poster about school pumps for kids with wide feet being a nightmare to get it has taken me 3 weeks of umming and ahing to decide we wil go for one 1/2 size up in the clarks pumps just to get the width that she needs. My little one has a high instep as well as wide feet so I feel your pain!!
I would totally second the idea of going to a small independent shoe shop if you can find one. I take both my girls to a place a few miles from us but they stock Clarks, startrite and many other good quality brands and they take lots of time and attention in fitting the shoes. We were there for an hour and a half the other week and my little one must have tried on about 25 pairs of shoes before the sales assistant was happy with the support that the shoes gave to her heel. They actually stock more styles of Clarks shoes than the local Clarks stores which saves on disappointment for my DD2 as she gets to pick a style like her sister does rather than being told you can have those ones as that is all they have in for wide feet!!I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying "You're next". They stopped when I started doing it to them at funerals0 -
I have the other problem a 6yr old DD with size 8 feet. When she started school 2 years ago they asked why she wasn't in school shoes and hasn't got plimsoles. Easy they didn'nt make them small enough!! Anyway I think little people should be in brightly coloured shoes be it for school or home as long as they're properly fitting & good quality. Shes spent the summer in doodles and won't be going back into school shoes until shes got the wear out of her lovely pink closed toe Clarks sandals. DD2 doesn't like shoes so will wait until the clarks boots come out before she'll come out of her sandals.0

Id ditto a previous posters advice and try an indepentdent shoe shop, your daughter has feet like my childen, and we just dont do clarks in this house ! an independent shop will stock a lot more variety and styles, our local one has the startrite franchise, which fit mine a lot better. i pay more but well fitting shoes are very important !0

Hiya Violetta,
Have you been down "The Ferry / Broughty Ferry". There is a couple of small independent shoe shops there which are worth a look. I can't remember their names, sorry, but they are not difficult to find and I'm sure they are on the same street as Boots and Woolworths if that helps.
I had a struggle for my oldest sons shoes when he was younger as he was only a "C" fitting. He has grown and fattened up now though.
There is also (if you have a car), a Clarkes outlet in Livingston if that helps. My friend gets her daughters shoes there on a regular basis. Clarkes shoes at half the price.
Hope this helps and good luck.0 -
my boys were in a size 10 at 3 years old, and by the time they were in juniors were in an adult size 6, and couldn't get plimsolls to fit, which caused trouble at school, but what can you do when they only go up to kids sizes, the boys continue to grow, and now they are 13 years old (TWINS), they have just had another growth spurt, and are in an adult size 14, and buying shoes is becoming more and more impossible, and they have very wide feet as well, so you are not alone in having a child with big feet
Not sure if this is too late to help you shazrobo, but I've got a 6ft 4, 14 year old so sympathise with you totally. I had to get his school trousers from Slaters Menswear, as normal trousers wouldn't fit. He's got a 38inch inside leg already.
Anyway to the point, they do shoes there up to a size 15 and have some really nice ones, so it's worth a look. I'm not sure about prices though as titch mentioned above only has a size 9 feet for his height!!!
Hope this helps you.0 -
my 3yo(turned 3 in april) has just been measured at a 10G and my 5yo is a 12G so you arent alone with the big footed thing!!
i blame DH as he is 6ft 7ins,big feet and they just take after him!!!0 -
My DS is nearly 6 and is a size 8 1/2F! He's only grown half a size in a year! The problem I have is that he plays football, but the proper football boots don't start till a size 10 so he has to have trainers instead. He's only just in age 4 clothes. The good thing is it's longer before I have to buy him new stuff so keeps the cost down a bit.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

my son is 3 years and 3 months and a 10H shoe too. I got him new shoes today and the woman in Blunts brought about about 5 Clark's shoe boxes. I like Blunts because they carry different brands of shoes.0

Twe are going to Kent next month so will look out for them, think theres a Clarks outlet there too so will maybe try there.
The ashford designer outlet
has a Clark's shoe shop (as has the Chatham Dockside) was in there the other day. They have loads of school shoes at the moment in all sorts of fittings (quite reasonably priced £17 to £19) but not much in the way of casual shoes. I was quite surprised at the amount of school shoes as this is the first year they seem to have catered for them.
They measure and fit them also, the measuring was better there than at the town branch of Clark's!
My DD1 (8) has stayed the same size 12 1/2 F for the last year. think she is due a growth spurt!
