Boffer didn't gain anything from it because the offer was free. You don't have to use the free postage if you don't want. They didn't even get your card details because there was no need to give them.

Boffer is owned by the same company that owns BigPockets so the company as a whole will have gained from all the registrations of personal details.

Lets not forget it was a stipulation that last nights "offer" was only available to those who had pre-registered their personal details on the Boffer site.

Gained what? You have to show financial gain. An address wouldn't cut it in court.
  • you can tell they did it to get lots of people to sign up as it never said when there was freebies before, that only registered customers can apply for the freebie so sign up now with a sign up link.

    not on the boffer site.

It mentioned you had to sign up at the end of the previous offer.

Also boffer knew they might offend given one of their staff posted this on dvdforums:
I will give you a clue. either you are going to find it extremely funny or you are going to think its been done in very bad taste.

Seems last nights boffer saga has resulted in lots of new sign ups to this forum as well.
  • i wasn't personally offended but dont think it was right,
but i cant understand how they can justify them selfs as
they are still making a joke off it. i just doesn't seem like
they care about their customers at all.

I'm always fascinated and amused by people taking offence. Notice that the verb "take" is there.

Was the freebie listed as "BOFFER FREEBIE - THE USB FORNICATION OPTIMISER"?
