ment a boycot forum lol, woops hopefuly we will generate enough complaints for boffer to publicly apologise. instead of taking the p**s and just deleting peoples posts

i feel that if even just 1 person was offended by this then some sort of apology was in order and isn't it against the law to advertise something they are not willing to give whether it be a freebie/comp, whatever?

My apologies bristolleedsfan. I was just trying to recollect what i read, might have been somethhing else. Ooooh just found out the comment was on HUKD the person edited their posts. So my apologies again people.

I didn't find the offer offensive but I understood why it could be very offensive to people hence why I submitted that ASA thing, cause nothing is going to get done if we just sit idley by. Right?

Everyone could contact Boffer and ask for their registration details to be deleted + request confirmation that the request has been actioned, would cause some work emailing confirmations to everyone.

i'm not taking sides here, because i personally wasn't offended and can see the funny side, but i understand that some people are deeply offended and i respect that.

i don't know what is and what isn't covered by the Advertising Standards Agency, but i do know that boffer would be covered by the data protection act, as they required you to register to claim the "freebie" and it's clear that those details were handed over in good faith and were obtained falsely.

so perhaps those who want to take it further should be emailing the Data Protection Commissioner with their complaint?

I don't understand the 'false pretences' argument.

You signed up to get a 'freebie', ok you didn't get the freebie
that was advertised but you got one none the less(free postage).

As for the bad taste joke, then yes I can see how some
people may have been upset, personally I thought it was
hilarious(gets ready to be shot down in flames) but then I
have a quite dark sense of humour.

Good luck with your complaints but I don't think
you will get anywhere.
