Disturbance Allowance

I don't think you'll be entitled, as it's your choice to move into your own home. The DA is only paid on moves for service reasons; postings, change of entitlement or re-housing due to DE. It's worth double checking with admin, but I think you're on your own.

does any one know if i get da allowance for only moving 9 doors down from my current house. But this is due to us having a two bed house because we have 1 child ,we are now having child number 2 so need to move into a 3 bed ,do i get da allowance for this situation

    any info would be great

Not 100% sure on this but my understanding of this situation is you are entitled to move at public expense (ie removals) during a posting if your entiltment has changed ie having a baby.

The disturbance allowance is calcualted on the distance moved/amount of children ect ect.

Moving 9 doors away wouldnt mean much in the way of cost to yourselve ie new school clothes at a change of school, but removels would be at paid for.

    Hi All
We have just recently bought a house in NI which i want to move into. Its not what I class as a last move since my husband still has years left! I went and spoke to welfare who have told me I am not entitled to a move! can anyone clarify this

Personel choice to buy V Married quater....

I would say not entitled to as not on posting ect.

However have you thought about renting it out. Make it work for you whilst still in the quater. Then when hubby leaves you will have a house to move to....

Not sure but it used to be that you paid for your first and last move. This was the case when I married in 2001, so I sold my house and moved to a quater (about a mile away so it was cheap) then when I was posted I had already made the first move so I was therefore entitled to all the allowences. (like I say the rules may have changed)
