Cundall Thats What i kept saying to him: All i want is a simple Visa electron card and now i have a Visa debit, maybe i will call them now.0

 Thanks for your replies, it looks like the bank man just wanted a new customer ?
I said i needed a Visa Electron to get cheap flights and he said YES it is an elctron card, funny how its not accepting it as it has £160 in it just now.
Anyone reading this if you want a Visa Electron you can get one from the Post Office though they charge 1.5% to top it up with funds.
I will be calling Barclays soon to complain.
I didnt want a Visa Debit i needed a Visa Electron to save this £16 Ryanair charge
That's not nice for you-he should of explained that you were getting a full VISA and not an electron. It is more often that people prefer VISA full over electron so I am wondering if the adviser was confused or whether he did just do it for the sale.Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!

I also opened a Halifax Easycash account for use with Ryanair. The card does indeed clearly say "VISA Electron" on it.
The main reason I chose this account was because it has an online application process, so I didn't have to find time to visit a branch.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Benjus hi
When did you apply for the card roughly?
Mine says Visa Debit with Connect at the top0 -
Usually trhe easiest way to tell the difference between a normal debit card and an electron card, doesnt matter who issued the card, its the same principal.
On Visa debit - the main card numbers are riased
on Visa electron - not raised printed onto the cardxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Quite recently, between one and two months ago.
According to this page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Credit_card_numbers), a Visa Electron card has a number beginning 417500,4917,4913,4508, or 4844.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

I just spent 30 mins calling them and they said it is a Visa electron card i have on there system. Funny as Ryanair dont like it ? And it says Visa Debit on it with Connect at the Top and has raised print on it and starts with 4658
And also Ryanair accept Connect and Debit at an extra £16.
