Oh Currys are now really playing games aren't they?
They have reduced the body only to £560 and increased the kit package to £579 (although still showing as out of stock). PC World still have the kit at £559 and guess what.....in stock!!!
Are they doing this on purpose?0 -
As for the lens - you can get a new 18-55mm lens for between 30 / 40 on ebay but to ne honest to get the full benfits of this camera ( i have the 300d / but played around with my dad at fairford airshow BUT using my L lens from canon 70/200m that when it gets fun -ok to get the basic L lens is 500 but worth every pennyTell it as it should be....0

There is definitely something funny going on here, I phoned Currys yesterday to see if they would be having any more kits in and they told me it was discontinued!
I then spoke to someone at another company which is part of Dixons Stores Group who said they had some in stock and their supplier had over 500 available to them!0 -
Personally I think Currys are pulling a fast one.
They currently have a £40 voucher which can be used, then you have the 10% cashback they are offering on the egg card. Use both of them and suddenly Currys have lost nearly £100.
Thats why I think Dixons say they can get them and PC World have them as you can't use either of the above vouchers/cash back at either of these stores.0 -

But surely the 10% + £40 is valid for all currys products so why don't they pull all products from the web?
I thought the £100 cashback from mastercard was purely funded by mastercard, but maybe this is partly paid for by the retailer as well?
Does anyone know if the EOS350d kit is available in store still?
There must be a way we can get currys to put it back on the web...0 -

I agree, surely this will be a big selling christmas pressie, especially with the Canon cashback, and not everyone out there will know about the extra discounts and egg cashback available, so I don't know why they would single out this item to be removed from their website? The only thing I could think of was maybe Canon have intervened in some way?
Take a look at the stock levels at Macwarehouse, another part of Dixons Stores Group, doesnt look like a discontinued item to me!!!

After the early closedown of the Dixon group sites it’s no longer available in kit form on any of their sites - however on the PC world site the body only now costs.... wait for it!
Web exclusive price inc vat £140,537.00
Yes that’s a 140K price tag
so a 2% eggcard christmas cashbackof 2,810!
any takers

well i ordered mine by playing with the url string, and foundout that if you add it to the basket with the case (and/or memory card) that they suggest you can get the order through
well i didnt know if it would work all theway, but tonight i just got an e mail saying :
'We are pleased to confirm your order.
It has been processed as detailed below:-
Payment method: Credit/Debit Card
Delivery of the following product/s
Quantity Code Description
1 243031 LOWEPRO UK REZO 140 CASE Awaiting despatch
1 605693 CANON 350D KIT DIGISLR Awaiting despatch'
So theyve obviously got some back in stock - yet still show out of stock on the currys website.
my only concern is with all the to-ing and fro-ing between pc world, egg and currys etc., that the campaign code/cooky to get my 10% instant egg cashback may have dropped off. Still - I will argue that one with egg if and when0 -

The problem is the deal is not as good when you include the memory card and case. The memory card is certainly over priced.
I have emailed currys again tonight and ask when the kit will be available. Worth a try...0
