    what are you studying penguin?

Lucky you with the healthy bank balance! my bank account is looking very low at the moment which depressed me till I realised that I've less than a week till payday and it used to be at that level about a week after payday!

Im studying Law - had a quick flick through the booklets and the text book and it looks interesting but havent studied since I left college 6 years ago - so will take a bit to get back into the swing of things!

Bank balance is only looking good because the mortage doesnt go out for a week - once upon time though I would have spent some of it and worried about topping it back up at a later date so I am learning some discipline! x x

ooh thanks Mum - didnt realise I would be able to get and NUS card.

Havent fully decided what I will do once the degree is fully finished (in about 4 years) I can stay within the MOJ but more towards the Legal Advisor side. I would really like to do Equine Law but would need to study for an Equine Science degree towards the end of the Law degree which a college not far from me does one night a week for 2 years - so still deciding!

Skint - in a way I feel 'lucky' for want of a better word to have been in debt (and realise I want to get out of it) at a young age as it has really changed my attitude towards money and my finances which wouldnt have happened until I was much older otherwise. x x

Once your registered with the OU, even if your course has not started yet, go to NUS website, and on list of uni's look for Open Uni, and go from there, the card is £10 and lasts till aug 09, or pay for 3 years (£25), and they send you one out.
Amazing where you get discounts from, cinema (mine instead of £7.00, pay £5.50, Superdrug 10% off, HMV, Amazon,), my 1st question in a shop is do you do Student discount, I covered my £10 back in the 1st month. xx

PS if your home network is AOL, go through Internet explorer instead, as for some reason AOL wont go through.

Hi Penguin..hope you are ok.Your course sounds really interesting and will open a few doors for you .Great that you are getting out of debt at an early age and then you have your whole life in front of you unlike me being an oldie.

Evening Taxi - Im feeling pretty positive about the course tbh - I think it helps in a way work being so awful at the minute - really focuses the mind!

Was off work today - met dad for breakfast which was nice and then went to see to the horse. DD had her swimming tonight and she has made real progress since I last saw her - not able to go every week because of work. She still really enjoys it which is the main thing.

Back to work tomorrow but then its the weekend - according to the news I am on strike for a day week after next - just what I need before Christmas - to lose a days pay! Oh well its for a greater cause! x x
