BB, good luck with the application. If you get it I will be pleased. My sister was awarded DLA for life due to having cerebal palsy. However, she thought one day she might apply for a part time job that she had seen and would possibly be able to do and rang to ask the disability people to ask if she got the job if she might get some help with getting to the job - she can't drive and her scooter is not reliable enough to get her there. She didn't even apply for the job as she realised getting there would be a problem..

On the basis of that phone call her DLA was withdrawn and she had to reapply.....

DLA isn't working or income dependent. Was she getting high rate care and mobility? I've never known of it being withdrawn when you apply for a job!Infact, part-time work is now encouraged where possible with Tax Credits.

Hope you're all enjoying the weather, it's not exactly hot and summery, but is dry, and I have seen that big yellow thing in the sky a few times, so it could be worse!

Sorry to read about your back BB :( Glad your GP is on your side though. you must do so well to keep it manageable. Hats off, like Len said. And good for you re DLA - it is there for those who need it so no need to feel a bit :o - if you're entitled, then claim it!

Love all your p ussy cat pictures, and Maz's dogs of course, and Len - your little Pud looks SO sweet I could just pop him in my pocket and feed him cubes of cheese all day :D

and here are mine! My lovely babies, looking so sweet and innocent:

Well we have had a busy weekend of cleaning, cleaning, tidying, and more cleaning. And it continues... today I have Sorted My Wardrobe. I have a huge built-in thing that you could almost live in and finally you can see the floor. Shoes are in a shoe thingy that hangs on the rail. Jumpers are folded and stacked, shirts are hung, and it is all beautifully coordinated by colour and fabric.

I give it a month before it's chaos again!

Just taken two sackfuls of stuff to charity, and I have a whole bunch of stuff to sort through that I'm passing on, mainly maternity, as I don't think I'll need them again ( :( )

Pizza for dinner, and a night of [STRIKE]messing around on the internet[/STRIKE] just chilling with the family ;)

    ooh, I must be mad.

I've applied to be on the cookery show Cooking With the Enemy. It's on BBC 2 and is where you cook your dishes and then 'critics' eat and give a report.

God, the amount of tears I sobbed in private after not getting as far as I wanted with Masterchef, this programme gives you the report whilst being filmed - at least with Masterchef they just said 'no' on screen without going through the whys and wherefors!! I reckon though I could cope with that though - I'd wanted to be on Masterchef for years and was bitterly disappointed to be beaten by someone who left bones in her pate and made Greg choke - twice (ggrrrrr), but this is a programme I don't have the same 'passion' for and I'm a much tougher cookie in life generally now.

Looks like they have tonnes of applicants though so I might not even get an interview. The application form was very lengthy though!!!

I'm also seeing it as another step forward for getting my confidence levels back up again.

I've not seen that one BB - but good luck! I think you're very brave, know someone who's been in both Masterchef and Great British Menu and it seems really tough. Good on ya! :T

    ta :o

Maybe it's the drugs I've taken today - but i've also just called up Working Tax Credits! I did the online calculator and apparently I could get around £24 a week in WTC! I'm having a pack sent to me. I always thought savings were included which is why I've never applied before now - I should have asked the lovely lad on the phone - fab Scottish accent he had.

What a busy bee I've been today - DLA, WTC and a cookery show I've applied for ! :D

I think so Gemmzie. I know she gets mobility. She is quite severly disabled, however, she has all her marbles intact and needs stimulation!! She was quite upset at the time!
