Hi Blockfire
Have you tried calling another provider and ask them to check if you could switch to them?
I havent yet because i seem to be getting free broadband at the moment as they havent taken a single payment from my direct debit in 2 months!
Im debating at the moment if i should cancel the direct debit and just see what happens lol
Everytime i phone they cant find a account with my phone number so if i dont exsist on their system how can they take any money? hmmm seems like a very messed up situation to me.0 -
Thought I'd tag onto this thread to relay my woes with a Bulldog to Pipex migration. I was with Bulldog for several years, and despite some initial problem with instability on ADSL2, I have been happy with my service and it's been very reliable.
Then I get the Pipex migration letter, and recently my broadband has been erratic, some interference issues that I had before making the connection drop during the evenings. 10 days ago my phone stopped working and I get no response from my e-mails to the "Care" e-mail address. Yesterday my BB was really bad and slow, I'm now getting about 1.3MB whereas it was a solid 8MB for years.
So I went to a friend's house today to call them only to be told Technical Support was closed on Sunday and to call back tomorrow...... how exactly when I have no phone! They even refused to authorise a callback to my PAYG mobile. I refuse to call their premium numbers to report a fault with their equipment. I did try a couple of weeks ago when I lost both services from my mobile and a pay phone, but it gobbled up £3 before I could even speak to anyone!
So I think it's time to go back to BT, I'll read all this thread and migrate using Sky (as I have HD) and the general opinion is they are pretty good.0 -

I signed up with bulldog in 2005, about 8mths later they stopped taking the money from my account for the direct debit, a debt collection agency then contacted me for 15 pounds which I paid, I then tried to get back in touch with bulldog for my mac address and they told me that my account was now with pipex/tiscali. When I got in touch with pipex/tiscali they told me that cable and wireless now had the account, when I got in touch with cable and wireless they said they didnt have my account. To date I still do not
know who has my mac address which means I am unable to get broadband from anywhere because they all require my mac address which is god knows where!!! I have phoned everyone including offcom and nobody gives a !!!!. Has anyone had a similar problem or any ideas as to how I can get my mac address. It has now gone on for the past 4 years and has become extremely frustrating as I cannot get online.
Please help0 -
hope you don't have as much trouble as im havin gettin your mac code off them0
