Hello
Quick Update on the situation
Because I had cancelled my direct debit , I got an invoice from Pipex for an oustanding amount of £35.11 for August.
I called credit control to say I was not prepared to pay the full amount because my internet connection was not working and that they had not been able to help.
I had to call customer service and explain from the beginning but the man was understanding so he agreed to amend the bill from £35.11 to £10.50 (line rental only). Fair enough, the phone was working ok. So I was not charged for the internet, the calls made to customer service and all the other calls!
I also double checked that they’d received the notice from BT about the switch and he confirmed that it was ok and that there were no cancellation fee to pay them.
All in all I am relieved now that it will soon be over.

it could be they aren't giving out mac codes to old bulldog customers as they were on the cable and wireless system so moving would mean a new bt phone line - new line means there's no hold on your isp connection.
i've discovered today i'm now on pipex and not bulldog, tho they didn't bother to let me know by post / email. i only found out after as my internet is grinding to a halt (i was regularly getting 7-7.5Meg connection now i'm lucky to get 0.5Meg) and wanted to know what was going on.
I'm considering moving to Be, anyone have any experience moving. I'm thinking that as Be requires a BT line i'll need a new line putting in and I can then order Be and get it up and running before getting rid of pipex (as i do a lot of work from home with big files and can't be without a fast connection), does that sound right?

so this thread promted me to getting round to calling them. what a joke, first i got tech support who said it was slow because of migration, when i asked how long it would be slow for he said up to 10 days, when i told him it had already been 10 days he had no idea what to say and couldn't give me any timeframe for it working properly again!
i then got onto customer services to get my new password, they gave it to me but when i tried it they'd given me a wrong password, phoned back and was told they can't reset them at the moment!
what a joke, migration must either mean they're putting loads of tiscali / pipex customers on the cable and wireless exchange and it can't cope or they're moving bulldog customers off the c&w exchange onto something that doesn't have the capacity for them.
why didn't they leave things alone until they had the infrastructure in place
can see this causing a lot of people to leave, after all most bulldog customers signed up as it was a fast, unlimited service with no traffic shaping - it's certainly not now.
i've also just noticed on the tiscali website that the service they offer at the speed i was on with Bulldog is a 3rd of the price, surprise surprise that's not what they're charging me.
