Does anyone know if you can view electoral roll on internet free of charge?
Think I may have a problem with credit rating because of whats on the electoral roll.
Full access to the Electoral Roll is available via https://www.yell.com for a charge of £90 per year.

Information NOT found on file...........
Gradually working my way round the site & found myself here - I have recently received my credit reports from all three agencies:- Experian, Equifax & CallCredit.
I was more interested in what wasn't listed, than the info on file.
1. No mention of my banks - is this because such
info is not part of their brief, or because I have
been with my banks since quill pens were
considered high tec?
2. No mention of the 3 credit cards issued by these
banks when credit cards came on the scene, no
bad thing I believe, as they addup to over £30,000
of credit.
3. No credit search listed from Halifax despite having
had their card for 2 months.
The one thing in the reports which really annoyed me was a credit search from Littlewoods as a result of
entering one of their prize draws - how dare they!
I am experiencing the same problem with Lloyds TSB at the moment. I've had a credit card for over three years with them and they have not reported my credit history to the credit scoring companies. and this has hindered my credit applications with other credit card lenders. Anyone come up with any answers as to why lenders have not reported to credit scoring companies?0 -
Some lenders only report defaulted payments, and not good regular payments made on time. Lloyds TSB fall into this category (and I had the same problem exactly!). :-(0

For the first time ever I have been refused on my application for a credit card. It's probably because I have missed a couple of payments. Can this situation be 'reversed' and will it affect my ability to get a credit card or change my mortgage provider in the future ?0

I use https://www.192.com to check "other people" on the Electoral Roll.
There is a charge for this.
I think I paid £25 to be able to use the facility 100 times.
I think the pricing structure has changed since then.
The electoral roll only gives a list of names of people who have been registered to vote in on particular year................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
Hi all, I need some help please.
These are the facts:
1 I am on the electoral role
2 I haven't been continually applying for credit
3 I have only moved home once
4 I haven't missed payments on mortgages
5 Credit Cards and bills are mostly paid on time
6 Experian/Equifax reports look okay
7 I have removed non-associated people from reports
Yet still I cannot get a mortgage - even from the lenders I had previously who I never missed a payment with. I am self-employed but was the last time I had a mortgage and it didn't stop me then. I have called both Experian and Equifax to ask them how I can find out what is wrong but they never give me a straight answer. Its as if my credit scoring is top secret even to me. I am desperate to get my own place so if anyone knows who I can turn to for help with this please let me know. I feel I am sticking to the rules and still not winning.

Item 5 could be restated as:-
5. I do not always make my credit card payments on time nor do I always pay my other bills on time.
That may be the nub of the problem.
Why did you terminate your earlier mortgage?
If you are self employed do you have three years of accounts to prove your income?
Are you trying to borrow too much?...............................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
It is definitely worth using Experian's 30 day free trial to try to get your Credit record up to date with them. You will see straight away if you are on the Electoral Roll from their first section. You should follow Martin's advice about closing any credit or store cards you are no longer using.
Experian also have a freephone number for you to check things directly with them, or a Query Template which you can fill out and post your own comments onto your Credit Record (if Experian accept you have a point to make)
However, you need to write directly to the various lenders to get items corrected, as Experian won't do this but rely on the lenders to tell them. I have just had a very unfair 4 or 5 months-worth of 3's removed from an entry where I had agreed to pay off an overdraft within a certain time, and did so, but the lender decided to blotch my otherwise excellent Credit Record. I have persisted in writing letters to them and they have finally removed the 3's and put 0's which is much better (refer to Experian's coding system)
I shall now wait a month or so and then request my File from Equifax and Call Credit by post, which is cheaper at £2 a shot.
A question now - Experian are now doing a "Credit Rating Score" - out of about 1200 I think. Mine was about 800 before all this - and Experian said that was "fair" - not "good" or "excellent". Does anyone else have any other comments about their scoring system? I am taking Martin's advice about telling others about my own experience, in the hope that someone out there can help me improve my own Credit Score.0 -
It is possible that some credit cards, among the 95 making 0% offers, would turn an application down because the Credit Score is too high................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0
