Thankyou, yes it is something we are worrying about because without one it will make it impossible for myself or her grandmother to visit and I'm sure others will struggle without one. Its a small thing but has a big effect and carries a risk. It wont cost much to put in I know but we were worried in case he will say that others have managed before now without one.

They have been given a copy of the tennacy, its 6 months not sure on exactly what type but I think its better that they have 6 rather than 12 to see how they like it.

They are hoping to arrange moving in around 8th Sept so I don't suppose they should leave it too long before asking him so he will have time to get it put in. The tennant let them down on Tuesday but they are going to try and get another meeting arranged to discuss things with her.

They havent seen a gas certificate yet but she was saying there is a fire blanket in the kitchen etc
    Thanx

Document * K* of the Building Regs "Protection from Falling, Collision and Impact" says that, in "dwellings", stairs less than 1m wide should have a handrail on one side, if the staircase is wider there should be one on either side but different Building Regs will probably have been in force at the time this property was built/refurbished..

Even though those building regs were made after the house was built if they are going to be put up now shouldnt they be put up in accordance to the regs now? As two rails would be preferred but he may think as there has been non so far one will do.
    Thanx

They got the keys last night and are moving stuff in over the week.

My daughter mentioned that the tenancy agreement is for 6 months but then it goes into a 1 month rolling tenancy. I thought it would be a 12 month one, is this a good or bad thing?
    Thanx
