Seriously one of those cheapo hand held as seen on TV JML steamers.

    Its the Steam Genie

Or hot soapy water and a softish scrubbing brush...

  • thanks everyone. I'll get myself a steam cleaner, got to be easier than scratching at it with a scouring pad!
  • Hi everyone,

what is the best way of removing dried grout from tiles?

My bf has recently tiled the bathroom but did not remove the excess grout as he went along and now we have to remove the grout. We have been using elbow grease and a white cloth but just wondered if there was a quicker and easier way to do this?!

    Thanks

  • I've had this problem and used a razor blade in a holder to shift the dratted stuff. B&Q, Homebase etc all sell them. Use it at a very acute angle and it won't scratch the tiles. And if anyone has a better method I hope they post it so I can take advantage of it next time a workman leaves grout behind!
If it's just very thin smears of grout one of those eco clothes wet and then dry should shift it - sorry I don't know what they're called.

Same Q asked a couple of weeks back, and the consensus then was that a steam cleaner is very effective for this job.
