According to Nationwide the card readers are the same for all banks.
I never received my reader for Nationwide so completed the form online and then two arrived at the same time.
I now keep a reader at work in my drawer and as I carry my debit card all the time its not a problem.
If for some odd reason I need one when i go away (why?) i can take it, its hardly huge (though why they could not combine a calcuator function into it and make it useful to carry I don't know). If staying with friends most will have a reader anyway I can use so it can stay at home.
