Interview advice for the DWP needed

Hi,
I have an interview for Benefits Delivery Officer tommorrow. Does anyone know if the questions will be the same as the AO position?
I can't find the IRC I applied to anywhere on the site0 -
Has anyone done the HEO interview yet?
To answer my own question, I had mine today.
It's not much different to the other interviews but you have to do a 10min presentation on your strengths as a leader and they will ask a few questions about it. Then you get the 4 competency questions.
I should know result around end of JuneNot hopeful though because I struggled with one of the competencies again

Hi Samr, can you give me any advice on the HEO presentation. Just got back off holiday to find I have a HEO interview Friday morning. How many strengths did you do and how did you do a presentation without powerpoint, flipchart or any other tools?0
-
Well I guess I didn't really do a presentation.
They said i could do it standing up or sitting down so i just sat and waffled a bit. I'm not sure what they expected.
I had a list of about 10 strengths, I think, which i gave to them on a piece of paper and probably talked about 6 of them. You only get the 10mins and they're strict on the time. In that time I think it's difficult to do much more than give examples to illustrate your strengths - not time to 'present' too much.
After you've finished, they will probably follow up on a few things you say.
Good luck0 -
Thanks for that. I know what you mean about 10 minutes, it isn't very long at all. My mind is in termoil, do I do more strengths and a little on each or a few and do depth. I don't think the jetlag is helping!!
I hope you did well. Of course you can never tell with these things.0 -

I wasn't snooping, it was just staring me in the face, how could I not look??! Lol. Oooh I really hope I get it!! I think I got all the errors in the literacy test, I didn't finish the numeracy test though - was a little harder. Are you waiting to hear from them too?0

Hi Samr
Thanks for rasing this issue.
I am having my interview for the same HEO grade next week and worried sick about the 10 minutes presentation. What type of leadership qualities/skills did you talk about ? And did you give series of examples or 1 example that demostrate your leadership qualities/skills?
Were you asked series of questions per competence, 1 question per competence or mixture of both - depending on the competence and your answers?
Has anybody else had an HEO grade interview recetly? Please let us know how it went.
Thanks0 -

How did your interview go? Any tip for me, I'm having mine next week Friday.

The competency part was 'give me an example of a time...'
One example per competency - follow up questions if they want more explanation/you haven't ticked all the boxes. These were much the same as the EO interview which you can find discussed in detail on here.
For the presentation I talked mainly about one project and used things that happened in that project to support my leadership claims. I really don't know what they wanted though so wouldn't like to advise you in any way.0 -
Hi, sorry in the delay in coming back to you but had sign-on problems. I did a couple of competencies and used one example. In my waffle I explained that I had a lot of strengths but had chosen these 2 as KEY!. I don't think they mind whether you use one for more examples, I got the inpression that they were looking to see whether these were strengths and you could/had used them
As samr says, it is one question per competence and then a few follow-ups if you haven't ticked all the boxes. Don't worry if you get follow-up questions, they want to give everyone a chance to say what they can do.
Good luck for tomorrow.0
