you don't really have to "beware" though do you? as you'll be told what they are if you have an interview! DWP doesn't try to trick people

    Apologies for incorrect word usage

I have received a letter today from DWP asking me to attend the literacy and numeracy interview on Sunday at 9.30.I thought this was an odd time so I phoned them and asked if this was this a mistake for an interview to be held on a Sunday but apparently this is normal.I am not complaining though cos I have been looking for work since last October and this is only my 2nd interview since then.I am very nervous about the actual interview as I have spent most of the past 10 years raising my children and attending college so I hope I will know how to respond to their questions!!lol:confused:

Good for you SF for trying to be helpful. Nowt to be worried about. We're here to support each other through the recruitment.

  • Did anyone have an interview straight after the tests?
  • * As the letter which invites me to the assessment day stated that you would be given an envelope with a date and time on if you pass the tests. Therefore this implies that the interview will be on another day. But i rang the number on the letter to ask, and they said to come prepared just incase you have an interview! I haven't had much time to prepare, but surely if you haven't been informed on your letter that they interview might be on the same day, then they can't really surprise you with one....can they?

Yes. I had a two hour gap between sitting the tests and being interviewed. Everyone else was in the same boat so I was not too bothered about it. Stopped me sitting worrying about the interview and maybe being overprepared. Went for a coffee and looked at the guidenotes for the interview.

In follow up to my previous post,I attended the literacy and numeracy tests today and passed!!Was so pleased as I had been dreading it!The literacy was a lot easier for me than the numeracy one though but I am not v good at maths. They both lasted approx ten mins each.I was given a letter stating an interview date and time, just over a weeks time.

What were the questions like for the literacy test? I have mine tomorrow and I'm slightly worried!
