Well Guys and girls,
We went to Las Vegas and California last year for our honeymoon and I just found a great deal for a flight to go back again in late April 2009/Early May 2009 as we loved it so much!
Managed to get the flights for £415 each return from Manc to San Fran. Bargain i think?
It is just a case of organising what to do within those 16 nights now!!!
This is where we need help!
We are flying to San Fran and have family there, so staying there is easy. We did this last year and did Monteray/Carmel area... and of course stayed in Ceasers at Vegas too.
This time we want to go to Los Angeles and do Hollywood/Universal Studios and maybe Disney there. Any advice on this? or hotels here?
I would also like to trek along to Death Valley and Yosemite...any advice for rooms here?
Where can we get a car hire comparison site for america?
Wheres best to get internal flights from? Kayak? or do they have price comparison sites in america for internal flights?
We were also thinkin of going to Sacremento and Napa Valley? any advice up here? where to stay or what to do?
We then hope to stay at Luxor at Vegas for a few nights, looking to be able to get a room on the side of the Pyramid for £60 a night in the week! not bad at all i thought?
Where else could we go? Someone suggested the train route from San Fran to Salt Lake City and Denver is very very pretty?
Any other ideas or similiar trips people have done would be REALLY helpful!
so blimmin exicited about the trip and its MILES AWAY!!!!

If you search the forums there is plenty of useful information already provided by people that have undertaken similar trips recently.0

yeah clawed quite a bit through just looking for specifics!
Also we are flying with BMI (think its United) anyone flown with them before to West Coast?0 -
i flew with bmi bmi (not a code share with united i mean), to Vegas before... absolutely awful..
i once flew United from Heathrow to NYC, and it was an average flight, nothing too special

oh dear..
its the usual
Manc - Chicago (think this flies as BMI) and then United from Chicago to San Fran....
Similiar back...
Can you upgrade at this website with United?

hmmm reviews of the luxor arn't brilliant...
the MGM gran signature sounds better! Is that in the actual hotel or is it like flats away from the hotel? anyone know?0 -
May I second the Mariposa. Only about 3/4 hour from the park gates, a couple of nice restaurants and really quite a pleasant place to spend the night.
Between San Fransisco and LA, if you drive the slow way, you will find San Luis Obispo - quite a lively college town - and just south of it Pismo Beach and the Kon Tiki Inn - http://www.kontikiinn.com/ - fall asleep listening to the waves.0 -

the signature is a seperate building ( 3 i think) to the mgm. The MGM grand itself is quite fine - we stayed here in may for £35 per night.0 -
Where can we get a car hire comparison site for america?
we always use travel supermarket ...and 9 times out of 10 www.carhire300.com comes out cheapest ( quote includes full insurance cover with ZERO excess). never had any problems using them. Beware Argus car hire as quotes come with a excess
we rented a private cabin in Yosemite from here http://www.redwoodsinyosemite.com/ , it was a tad expensive but very nice . these are the only private rentals inside the park , and is like a friendly private village . (see the 4x4 we hired through carhire3000 in photo)
If you go to LA , i highly recommend the warner bros studio tour
