Buy baked beans from Netto - better than heinz

Don't buy baked beans from Lidl - They are the worst thing on this earth!

Agreed! I actually prefer the Reduced Salt and Sugar ones, too much sugar goes into Baked Beans...

Sadly, my nearest Netto has just closed. I have to travel to the other side of town for my beans now.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Best to buy is Remoullade. This is a herby mayonaise that is absolute lovely on everything and not available in other stores. ( green packaging - in with the mayo )
Champagne is also very good - have it on good authority that it is over-run from a very good champagne house.

Don't bother with the wine though
Everything you need is out there - you just need to ask..................:A
  • Buy the coffee at Aldi ! there were some problems with a change of supplier but they seem to be sorted.

Buy the beer ! they sell own brand lager but it's brewed in Germany so not full of rubbish

    and the sausages....

    and the yogurt's cheap too

    Aldi

'Not from concentrate' fruit juices are good value, and taste lovely.

Bought a 2000w bagless cyclone cylinder hoover for £34 yesterday, which is very good, stylish and I am well chuffed with.

    Norpak spreadable butter very tasty.

However, I will not buy the fruit from there, as a friend who had worled there said apparently it is all irradiated  and I won't buy the pre-cooked chickens from there (or anywhere actually, cos why would you....?), as my Mum bought one from there once, and it was raw in the middle, and they refused to change it!

Having said that - I love Aldi!
"It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

I use both Aldi and Lidl, but have to travel in opposite directions of 40mls to get to them :( so do alternate stockup runs !!

Aldi's do a Sparkling SPRING Water in 2ltr bottles for 18p. Tesco used to do spring water at 18p too but now they've changed it to BOTTLED water - thats tap water not spring !!!!!!
also from Aldis i get Norpak slightly salted spreadable butter - i reckon this is lurpak in disguise - it freezes really well too.

Lidl's individual cheeze slices - edam gouda etc fraction of the price of Morrisons and 50g more a pack too-freeezes well
Mushy peas - about the ONLY ones i can get with no mint added (uurrghhh mint)
canned braised steak. really good value about 1.30 - cheapest way to make a stew - just add to veg - loads of flavour and no waste. cheaper than buying braising/stewingsteak as it dont take hours of cooking !!
cooked meats esp the black forest baked ham.
parmesan - CHEAP and it freezes
    mozarella - cheap and freezes
jaffa cakes - esp raspberry ones
    70 - 75% chocolate - mmmmm heaven
    champage - really good quality
    all pasta
    olive oil
    luxury museli

loads more but it depends on the makes - you get to know the nicer ones they stock - but its a matter of taste - i like their beans !!!!!!!!
What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots

    Aldi -

I just adore all their chocolate products. Their boxed chocolates with foreign lingo (!) on them are great 'cause people think they are really expensive.

They do the most amazing breadsticks with sesame seeds on which are very tasty and look posh.

Their biscuits are good and taste just like brand-name ones (esp. the Bourbons which went down a treat in the staff room).

Olive oil (huge bottles for under £2).

My friend speaks highly of their wine, but she speaks highly of anything containing alcohol...

Last week I also got some lovely Christmas cards for 99p which look expensive (don't get the ones with the silver envelopes 'cause they pong), a nice cardigan to wear when the boiler packs up at work for £5.99 and some suede gloves.
