High number of posts

I am relatively new to this site (about 9months) and I have notice the higher the number of post you provide the increased Kudos you get with the additional stars.

This is all well and good but I have noticed some members just go round thanking other members on their good ideas thus increasing their total of posts.

They have not added to this site!!
I prefer the quality rather than quantity.

I cant wait for the sad G*T who is going to reply in the same manner to this post.

Sorry, couldn't resist that, and it's the first time i've been first in with such a post.

Anyway, what i was going to add to this is that you get the first 3 stars after a few hundred posts, so very quickly.

I do tend to take notice of the 4's and 5's because, in the main, they have been around the site for a while, and may have seen other threads similar to the one you could be interested in, or know where to redirect you, or who is good with what sort of advice.

Most have been a friendly bunch up to now in my experience!!

There is one person in particular on this site who drives me nuts with pointless posts and has made thousands of them without really adding many moneysaving ideas to the site.

Most genuine moneysavers will spot people like this.

The way I deal with it is to just ignore such posters and get on with what we do best........moneysaving and helping others to moneysave.

there is also a point to mums comments that i feel able to ask some of the posters with a lot of stars important questions and know that they will probably have the answer or be able to direct me to the right source.

However there are many on here that do not have thousands upon thousands of posts also that contribute a great deal to the site with extremely good advice, and without their particular help many times I would be in a real fix. Although i am also guilty of thanking people for their help and advice though out of politeness and gratitude, not particularly fussed about how many stars i do or do not have though.

Yes I am guilty of this too Rushnowt. But there are people on this board who do post too many 'thanks for this' etc posts. Sometimes its clear that they havent even read the original post.

Rushnowt, an excellent point. Many 'so called' newbies have given me invaluable help and advice.

So in my opinion, stars and number of posts really aren't important.......as you mentioned in your earlier post obeywan, and as rushnowt says too, its quality rather than quantity that matters to most of us.

wash ya moth out whats that when its at home ya mean one of them flyin' things that fly round the light bulb, just my luck if i try washing the b!oody thing while its up there i'd get an electric shock, plus if i don't wash it i'll save on soap and water.......now that is money saving ;D
