As with any company, you will always find the critics that pop out of the woodwork to air their views. To anyone considering this position, all I can say is, make your own mind up. There are hundreds of posts on this site from staff who are very happy and enjoying their role. But this person does pop up on a regular basis, trying to cast doubts on the professionalism of the business. Obviously a very disgruntled ex employee who enjoys throwing their toys out the pram :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

And as I've just told the previous poster I have never posted on this site before. Someone actually drew it to my attention. Perhaps I should ask some other colleagues to post REAL opinions, rather than your rose coloured view of things.

Still waiting for a pay review by the way. Or for them to figure out how to apply sick pay?

Sorry, but are we only allowed one view of something?

    ,

Unfortunately this is is the mindset of many of the employees now, Those 'happy' workers on the project are the old gegs that are too scared to stand up for themselves and the foreign students desperate for a buck or two.

The fact is when it comes to 3 TL's leaving in 5 months because they are fed up of being made to look the !!!!!!! in the situation, and being made the scapegoat for such a poorly run workplace, you know all is not well.
Then theres the handful of supervisors and at least 10 agents in the same timeframe - who have left over holidays, and because although they do the job of 5 or 6 people they are never thanked for it OR given a pay review. FACT

And then theres the migration, since as Sanity said there has been a discrepency over office politics people are upping and moving to the sales project! I know of at least 4 long term agents there already..

    ~Imagine the scenario...
In Janaury you book a luxury 2 week cruise to the usa - departing in September,
You inform the holiday department the moment you book the cruise, you receive an email back to say they have received your request. in the email it tells you that they will let you know your availibility no later than 72 hours before your departure time!
Best of all, if you do not receive an email back at all then the availability is full and its been declined!, however let us continue - you get days approved by the holiday department but instead of the 2 weeks uve asked for, you get 7 days, now its up to you to find cover... ~Fast forward to September~ You cant get cover for 7 of your days and you've worked your butt off trying, you are EXPECTED to call in for every day you did not have approved, if you cant call in, its classed as a 'no call no show' and you will be sacked for these!

" hi this is **** im on a Boat in America and i wont be in today.. ok call you again tomorrow"

And theres the matter of the QA's, fancy being coached based on how you speak to another born and bred english person by someone from the other side of the world munching noodles for 18 hours a day?! welcome to Teletech Quality Assurance!

Oh and while I'm at it, the technical issues... the company forcing extra seconds out of you on each call by claiming it is a technical issue, unfortunately its been confirmed from someone 'higher up' that its all a load of tosh! so thats 4 months of hoping for something better to come out of it thrown out the window!!

Daffodil i wonder how many of those staff you speak of that are happy in their role are still working on the @home project? and i wonder how many of them have ever been more than just agents? to me you sound like you are papering over the cracks in order to keep the steady influx of scabs rolling in every 5 weeks fresh out of pointless training straight into the fire.. what was it last time 30 agents in and 20 quit after 5 days? ... not exactly a rarity though is it?!

I agree that people should make up their mind but at least present them with the facts.. If you are skint, and need a job where you dont mind being shouted at every now and again, and given the opportunities to get bonuses based on performance scores marked by people who cant speak english, you dont mind taking ur holiday in 3 days bursts and you dont ever want to advance to be anything other than a call taker then this is the job for you, However, go into this with your eyes open!

Not everyone with negative views on this company is an ex-agent, I am an agent and have been for a long time. The only reason I am still working there is because of the friends I have made and my need for spending money for my holiday, then i'm off to find a real job not biased towards certin ethnic groups

Look out StormSurge, we'll be accused of having multiple personality disorder in a minute.

After all, how can more than one person possibly have a different view of a company?

And for the information of someone who posted above, think it was Duchy, read your handbook. Unions are not forbidden, but its not in the best interests of the company to be unionised. I wonder why?

And pay reviews are meant to be at the beginning of every tax year. Thats April. Qualifies an awful lot of us doesn't it?

Hey stay or leave-makes no odds to me-just DO stop whining !!!!!
I'm really sorry that Teletech just don't appreciate how important you are and how unppreciated you feel-Well that's how it is sometimes-you can sit and seethe because someone else got promoted-or whatever this week's grudge is -or you can just get on with those mere 20 hours a week a mere 20 out of the 168 in each week.
Hang on desperately for a payrise if you must-but in common with most other companies you could be in for a loooooong wait !! Recessions and payrises don't usually go hand in hand.
Maybe the reason I don't have issues the way you do is that I've worked long enough to see that no job is perfect and EVERY job has pros and cons. If you are looking for the perfect job with the grateful bosses and a high salary you might be in for a long wait..........wherever you work !!!

Oh, sorry, does that mean anyone with an opposite opinion to you should not bother speaking?

    So much for democracy eh?

We are giving a few of the cons of this company, since you only seem to extol the virtues.

So far today, you have accused me of being someone I'm not, and told me to stop whining because I happen to think you're wrong in your views.

Kindly allow people to present their opinion without resorting to patronising them.

I happen to believe there are a number of drawbacks to working for this company, and I'm qualified to speak as someone who has been there a long time.
  • at least i'm not alone in thinking tele tech is not very good place to work
  • its an ok place to work as long as you are not hoping to ever get a promotion or a wage rise or any decent technical support for the system issues, and are totally skint, its the SU's that keep the boat afloat, no one else, The agents are scabs, pick one off and sure enough by tomorrow a new one will be there. its the honest truth if you dont lick !!!! you wont get anywhere.

    Absolutely.

And in reference to the person who seems to think I was passed over for promotion, I wasn't, I haven't applied.

I do however see people barely out of the probationary period becoming SU's, and T/L's, and this is not a good way to keep your workforce happy.

Promotions should be jobs thrown open to the whole floor, not given via recommendations from a t/l you happen to be sucking up to.

Sorry, but I have a mind of my own, and would rather earn a promotion or anything else on my own merits than becoming "teachers pet" to acheive it.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if higher management have any idea exactly what goes on at ground level in the company.
