A lot of these parents are the more affluent so I guess they are thinking investment wise.

My parents didn't go to university, it didn't even cross their minds. So I had to research myself about different institutions, tuition fees, grants, grades etc.

Too many young people get led to the uni where their parents went, much like in the US.

hehe maybe the parents should come along and support them during freshers' week too?! ;) make sure they drink a pint of water before bed and hold their hair out the way while they throw up in the morning!

:rotfl: I remember one student who had to leave a few weeks into the first term cos she couldn;t afford it. Her parents had given her money to live on for the whole term and she'd spent it all in freshers week.
