Is it safe to say that you know you're obsessed with your hair when you get stressed when you've run out of conditoner? :rotfl:

Okay, I'm not obsessed but my hair is my best asset and without conditioner it's a frizzy mess! :D
Thank goodness I bought some more yesterday. :D

Anyway, sitting here with a towel on my head. I get to see Sam two hours earlier than planned. Woo. :D

  • Just going to have a quick offload and if anyone has any hints or tips feel free to post them!

With the cold - I am fighting it off my chest (asthmatic) so touch wood. Am very tired and can feel my anxiety levels rising and a few tell tale pre-dark mood signs. I'm always nervous that by posting on here I'll feed into it and make it more of a problem - a delicate balance of facing it but not letting it take over - surely it is possible this will blow over in a short time, obviously physically not being well is a major trigger.

Tell tale signs - my imagination runs away with it itself (I start over thinking about the future and panicking about bein left on my own without Mum).

Wakin up feeling nervous, like I have little electric shocks in my body & often very hot. Wake up earlier but wide awake but don't want to get up. Try to do breathing exercises

Slight loss of appetite and feeling tired.

I think this is all just a blip but am naturally anxious about it all.

hi bizzybek, having a cold, is bound to make you feel bit down, i also think the time of year, cold dark days makes people feel bit darker too.
i would try getting out of bed as soon as awake, as lying there, just thinking, sometimes leads to these thoughts taking over.
as for the loss of appetite, how about milky drinks or soups, that can be sipped at times when you don't like eating
sorry prob not much help, i comfort eat when i feel down, sleep more, and cant get up, my major problem at the moment is the dark thoughts as i go to bed, and they are keeping me awake.
this time last year i was going through a rough time with my ex, abuse etc, and it was an awful time, and for last few days this has been playing on my mind again, even tho i know ian will never turn out like my ex

    hugs

  • Thanks Sahz - I could give you a big hug just for being there :)

I don't know your story but just from that one bit I can understand why you have trouble getting to sleep. My bout of depression came this time 2 years ago after a severe chest infection, and I had a repeat performance last year so I think you subconciously link things

hi katie, glad you got boiler fixed, so you can be nice and warm
bek, i think the recurring depression, could be subconsciously linked, or it could be the start of SAD, which is brought on by the shorter, darker days

just got back from kids xmas party at local church, my head is hurting from all the noise, over 50 kids and about as many adults, was nice to see all the kids faces light up when santa showed up

    hugs all
