Hi Miro:hello:Maybe your flatmate is incapable of feeling empathy some people are,it does not mean she does not care about you. Some people are so wrapped up in themseles they just cannot consider how anyone else might feel.As for you saying that no human being could like you well that is just not true.Your late wife not only liked you she loved you so it is obvious you are not unloveable it is just the way you are feeling .Your cat proberly has a slight infection in its eye which may improve on its own but if not im sure the vet will sort it out.I think i may have mentioned this before but have you thought of adopting a younger cat? not to replace the ones you have but to lesson the pain of them passing when it is their time.As you know rescue homes are full of unwanted cats that would love to have such a careing owner and who knows a younger companion may give the older cats a new lease of life.

I'm not very good about showing empathy, but then I wouldn't put her feelings down either. I'm used to it though, it's just annoying when someone makes out your feelings and experiences aren't worthy.

I just don't think anyone could like me again. I've tried. Admittedly i'm tough to get to know and when people get in, they usually use me anyway. I dunno, life is just a sh it

I'm not sure about a younger cat. I think flatmate and I have decided once these go, then no more. We wouldn't want to go through the pain again one day. It's why I don't get close to anything as the pain at the end is too much. The cats were an accident, albeit a good one. I never even liked cats before I got these.

Sorry for the belated response. Didn't realise I had been responded to, if that makes sense. And thanks for the welcome

Hehe, she does have a sister as it happens, but they're complete opposites! Fortunately, I met the good one :p

I suppose it is difficult to find that special someone. I waited for long enough it was driving me mad! As cheesy and clich! as it sounds, it really does tend to be when you've given up all hope and stopped looking that you meet the right person at last :A

Or, if all else fails, just go speed dating :D

Posts get lost in here as it can move on quickly :o

Ahhhhhhh, so it's you that met the good one, leaving me with the bad one. That seems to happen far too often, me being left with Cruella :o:rotfl:

I gave up looking a long time ago, so I think i'm the exception to the rule :o looking gave up on me too :o

The only thing about me and speed dating would be the speed that I clear the room

I expect so. She's been advised that eating smarties in a vertical position is a much safer option :o

Aww Miro, you sound miserable, hope your day goes ok & you feel better soon.

I'm ok thanks, just chauffeured my son to the station. It's a really horrible day here, it's bucketing down. I'm now watching the repeat of x factor, and hope I don;t need to go out again today.

Katie, you're a real trooper, you're amazing, coping so well with the pain. Glad the party went well. Hope you have a nice time at your parents, I'll catch up with you later.

Well, my flatmate has come home and her church friends have said they will help with the cat if she needs the vet - travel, bills and emotional support etc, but i'll let my flatmate accept that, as I always insist in paying my way. I don't like help. One of flatmates friends took full advantage of them and they paid loads for her without blinking an eye, which I think was nice of them, but i'm not one to take advantage of folk. They are my cats so i'll pay for their keep and treatment - somehow. May qualify for PDSA treatment anyway and as I have done some voluntary work for them in the past, I would feel like I have at least contributed.

It's sunny and dry in Somerset. Maybe we have your weather to come :o

:eek::eek::eek:X-Factor:eek::eek::eek::eek: Can't stand that sort of program. Flatmate loves it, I just can't stand it at all. If it was all about the singing and not the males the female public fancy, Simon Cowell's one upmanship and it wasn't Americanised, it would be fine. None of the acts that should have gone last night - the boyband, the ex druggie or the fat old bloke, were in the bottom two and it was left to two girls who threaten the female public. I didn't think either were great, but the aforementioned 3 were woeful.

And need I mention Leon Jackson  He looks like he could be number 1 in the charts tonight - it's between him and Geraldine apparently :rotfl:

Sadly, I have to sit through it when on PC on a Saturday night  so hear everything. It's so plastic :o

:rotfl: OMG, can things get any worse? Poor you, having to suffer a prog you can't stand! I'm afraid I'm so eaily addicted... I watch 1 show then have to watch again and again, whither I love it or hate it! I don't have a favourite, no one stands out for me. I can't believe Leon is in the running for No 1! I wasn't impressed with his song. Maybe it'll grow on me.

I hope you qualify for PDSA treatment, that would be a big help. I'm not one to rely on others either so I can empathise with you.

I hope your weather keeps up.
